ZeniMax Media, the company who own Bethesda and id software, have wrapped up their acquisition of Tango Gameworks. This might not seem like big news but consider, for a moment, that Tango is the home of Shinji Mikami and you might have a little more interest.
Mikami is the near-legendary Japanese game designer who is responsible for the Resident Evil series. Tango Gameworks was founded with the explicit aim of making AAA multi-platform games. The studio has some big talent in its ranks, talent that had key roles on titles in the Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy franchises. Shinji Mikami will continue to act as creative lead and will be running the studio.
ZeniMax Media’s growing stable of studios is looking extremely impressive now with top talent at studios who have led the way in many varied genres. Will we see a survival horror version of Fallout, an RPG set in the Doom universe or an action game with high-fantasy roots? It’s certainly going to be very interesting to see what comes next for ZeniMax.

Potentially stunning news. I’ll be watching their progress with interest.

Mikami is a genius and this deal puts IDTech in the same boardroom. Very interesting indeed :)
