Kotick #16 Most Influential Man of 2010 – AskMen

Love him, loathe him, or begrudgingly accept that he’s a businessman trying to run his company the best way possible, you can’t get away from Activision’s Bobby Kotick. Adding another feather to his illustrious cap, the outspoken CEO has now been named “16th Most Influential Man of 2010” by agony uncle site AskMen. His entry explains:

“There are few people in the gaming industry who divide critics more than Activision Blizzard head honcho Bobby Kotick. On one hand, shareholders love his ability to generate revenue and maximize profits, while on the other hand, hardcore gamers detest his perceived arrogance and utter disregard for originality. It hardly helps matters that Kotick doesn’t sugarcoat his statements to the press.”

Over half a million manly men took the survey, with a wide range of males ranging from UK comedian Russell Brand (#49) to US comedian Jon Stewart (#1) making the grade.

  1. In an industry which has grown at an alarming rate, I can definitely see why he’d be voted so highly amongst the AskMen demographic.

If TSA can continue to look at the context that his comments are made in, perhaps we can find out more about the real situation instead of the sensationalist poop most other sites peddle.

    • We don’t call people names here at TSA. We also actually play the games we review. Oh SNAP!
      ;)

  2. Aaaaaargh!!!! Kovacs I demand you change the sub header to : “WARNING CONTAINS BIG PICTURE OF BOB” – I know it’s Halloween but there is no need to scare the readers (and me).

    • careful, you’re straying into both spamming and abusive comments territory. Keep it up and Tuffcub won’t let you sit next to him on the bus any more. [cb]

    • That dark evil smile of a typical top-level American citizen strikes fear to our hearts!

  3. he’s an ass … nuff said

  4. Guys, lets not let this comment section descend into immaturity by mindless name calling. I accept that many dislike him, and that’s fine, but if you do, make sure you justify why instead of just calling him [insert insult here] and moving on.

  5. Christ, that picture scared me.

  6. It’s probably entirely irrelevant but I think I remember hearing that AskMen is owned by IGN.

  7. Hardly surprising he ‘charted’ higher than Obama either, as crazed lunatics who have a penchant for afternoon tea are more influential than the supposed most powerful man in the world.

  8. I’ve never even heard of the #1 most influential person, so his influence on me is zero. Stupid lists…

  9. I love that James Franco is so high up. Clearly an influential performance in Spiderman 3…

    • Ha! Love it! :)

    • he was brilliant in milk, and he has done some great work since spider-man.

  10. they say if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

    uh, bye then. :)
