Judging by Activision’s Live-Aid-esque coverage you’d think they had solved world peace rather than launching a game. Those of you who are really, really, really interested in Black Ops can watch almost six hours worth of live coverage via the COD Facebook page – alternatively Jack Duckworth is going to snuff it on Corrie this evening; that’s probably just as enjoyable.
Here is a breakdown of the shows on Activision TV tonight, as described by Activision themselves.

Aha, sounds quite interesting actually, from a gaming culture perspective. It shows how more accepted hardcore gaming has become.
gideon1451
That said, it is a bit of overkill.
jikomanzoku
Gotta disagree about the acceptance bit as this is offered not on mainstream media but rather a very targeted and fan specific facebook page. If anything it just indicates how advertising has changed and become even more focused.
solidsteven
WTF?! It’s just a game not the bleeding olmpics. It’s cod who….*walks off complaining about the cod 6 hour live coverage.
project84music
Is this really necessary?
Voganlight
Would be pretty funny if the first person to buy it was a 13 year old kid
Ride_The_Lightning
Not really. They’re the ones on top of those score lists! In fact, the next generation of gamers is something that us people will have to watch out for – They’re gonna be kicking our arses big-time.
Yellow 13
Christ, this is officially the most overhyped game since…. Well the last COD :P
Erroneus
Amen, fucking sheeps.

What’s next, getting knighted by the queen and interviewed on bbc breakfast.Oh no it means for the next few weeks i will hear nothing execpt cod.*goes toburn evry copy of COD*
Ryan1991
And GT5.
Severn2j
It actually was on bbc breakfast yesterday morning.. They were surprisingly non sensational about it. Compared to their coverage of GTAIV anyway.. I guess gaming has come a long way in that respect.
colmshan1990
Me thinks somebody uploaded this a bit late. ;)
I might pick it up eventually, but I just don’t play FPS games so much. I still have Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Far Cry 2, Quantum of Solace and Call of Duty Classic to complete.
Not plat, but just beat.
I just get tired of them I suppose.
Still, it’s always good when any game gets positive press.
jikomanzoku
Even if that press is just part of that games own advertising campaign?
Serebii.Net
Six hours? Is that all?
:O

I was watching a bit of it, was quite good. The single player looks f**king fantastic.
gideon1451
I haven’t heard much about the single player really. As usual, they’ve pushed the multiplayer as the big selling point.
Yahavage
Same – and the few people on my facebook who went out and got this last night have pretty much all just been online only, but they are all saying it’s fantastic. To be honest I think it looks like a good game, even though it seems to be receiving equal parts hate and hype – I’d like to get it and decide for myself. I used to enjoy mw2’s multiplayer, until it got to the point where it was impossible to find a game where you just got wiped out instantly by the people who obviously played too much!
Charmed_Fanatic
I wish the next game after this is crap … well crap to the noob seven year olds who think they are awesome, to much hype over one game
