Donkey Kong Country Returns Gets ‘Super Guide’

I’ve harped on several times now about how difficult DKCR was when I played it.  Well I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought so, as Nintendo has implemented their ‘Super Guide’ system into the game.  What this means is that if you die eight times in a row, you get the opportunity to let ‘Super Kong’ take over and play that section for you.  The downside is that no items collected during this period will be added to your final score.

This is the third title to use this feature, and probably the first that might actually warrant it.

  1. man i remember all th dkc games were absolutely rock solid (three im pointing a finger at you )i was only a youngen at the time but i reckon if i played them now i’d still fail miserably

    • I think most games where harder back then. The young ones of today wouldnt be too happy if you started with 3 lives, and if you ran out that was it, you had to start the whole game again

      • One thing that I think played a part in some games being so difficult, was the inability to save. When I read your comment the first game I thought about was The Lion King on the Mega Drive. I really loved that game, found this (http://bit.ly/cGFrzW) vid on Youtube, brings it all back!
