Bethesda Reveals Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Over at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards in the States, Bethesda’s Todd Howard has appeared on-stage to announce a new title in the Elder Scrolls franchise: Skyrim.

Very little has been revealed about the game so far, aside from a short teaser trailer (with a dragon!), and the game’s targeted release date – November 11th 2011.

No platforms have yet been announced for the game.

  1. That was a decent surprise :)

But somebody tell Spike that a WORLD-premiere means the entire world and not only US/Canada.

They really need to do some premium live stream service for the next VGA.

    • World premiere means that it airs for the first time on Earth. It doesn’t matter where it airs. I just has to be the first time. At least that’s how I understand the term.

      • Ye I know, I was just pissed at Spike :P

  2. the us thinks they’re the world look at the “world sereies mlb” its only the states not the WORLD!! but nice suprise i agree.

  3. TSA, you know there’s more news to make… :)

  4. I hope it comes to PS3, it’s unlikely but still possible for it to be a timed exclusive for XBOX 360 but ya never know. It could be the opposite, only on PS3, that’ll annoy a fair amount of people :p

    • Its unlikely not to isn’t it? Oblivion was on the PS3.

  5. YES!! :) Morrowind and Oblivion are two of my all time favourite RPGs. Can’t wait for the fifth part of the series :)

    • ^ This :)
Glad this has been announced, looking forward to some actual in-game footage though :D

    • I share your enthusiasm! I have no doubt this will be every bit as stunning as those two were.

    • yeah pretty much this again. love those games even though my computer had to get a serious make over for oblivion to work!

  6. Holy shit yes

  7. Whoa great!

Would be even greater if it supported the move for Gladiator duel style hack n’ slashing.

  8. Can’t wait for this! hope it’s not as glitchy as the last, and a year of waiting may well kill me..

  9. Wooo. More GameBryo engine bugginess

    • Bethesda seem to have some sort of attachment to that engine :|
