Today Ubisoft have announced that Ubi Massive -formerly known as Massive Entertainment- are working on a new project for the beloved Assassin’s Creed franchise. The studio is best known for its previous work on Ground Control and World in Conlifct, both military strategy games exclusively for the PC. So what could this possibly mean for the age-old conflict between assassins and templars?
The obvious answer would be an RTS focused on both factions, travelling between different eras, though some will remember that back in 2008 Ubisoft top dog, Yves Guillemot, said that Massive would be put to work on the development of MMOs. If this were to be true, it would raise the question as to what platforms the game will be available on, as MMOs are only now creeping into the console domain. Though all three mainstream instalments of the series have made their way to the PC, they have fared notably less well than their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 counterparts.
Thankfully, Assassin’s Creed has an extremely open-ended premise, meaning whatever the studio plans to do with it, the new title will still remain completely canon to the rest of the franchise.

Oh Ubi… keep releasing multiple titles a year and you’ll ruin a decent franchise you have.
Sure, short term equals lots of cash, but you need to protect your franchises long term.

is it worth getting brother hood? i just don’t have the cash if i want to get all the new games next year to stock up on the ones i’ve missed in the last month :/ i want to know if its worth getting for the story development or could i just miss it and skip straight to three?

It’s definitely worth buying, even at full price. There’s a ton of replay value, and the gameplay is incredibly solid.
