1666 Amsterdam has been revealed by Panache Digital Games, the studio of Assassin’s Creed creative director Patrice Désilets, a witchy adventure of supernatural shenanigans with lots of cats.
A free to play prologue for the game is now available for 1666: Amsterdam on Steam, giving a 30 minute glimpse of the game, with more to come when it launches into Early Access later this year.
The opening chapter features Noa Brooklyn, who was born as The Collector and raised by the Zaindaris to wrest back power from The Originals – entities who have gathered and abused power, hidden behind human faces a bit like in They Live. The prologue sees Noa ascend up to her unwanted role with her Commencement, and taking on a familiar, Aaron.
Aaron, though, is actually from the future. From 1999. But he’s now a cat. You can switch between Noa and Aaron, the former wielding witchcraft, the later being cute and fluffy.
