Dong. Dong. Dong. Yeah, I’m not doing that twelve times… This is just your brief midnight post here on TheSixthAxis to say that we love you all and we wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
2010 has been a busy year for us. We’ve built on our successes and added several key staff members to help us drive on to bigger and better things. We’ve listened to you lot too. You tell us what you like and what you don’t and we really do take that on board. Of course, we can’t please everyone but we think (and our feedback and figures suggest) that we do a better job than most.
I believe that this website is fortunate enough to have some of the most talented, most committed and most hard working staff members in the industry. The steady stream of high quality, well researched and entertaining content is testament to that. We know we’re good at what we do but we also know why.
The writers here are constantly driven on to try harder, do more and be better by the readers. Not just the proactive end of the spectrum either, we get plenty of feedback behind the scenes from the hundreds of thousands of regular readers who don’t put their thoughts beneath our articles.
I’ll be honest though, it does mean a lot to us when you get involved. The guys that comment on a large number of our articles, the names that appear next to the many community events and competitions, the regular forum members. You all give us the reasons we look for to keep on going.
You’re the reason we tweaked the site and added the blog format. You guys wanted a mobile site, we made one (and we’re still tweaking it). You inspired the Meets feature and the numerous layout tweaks. Your comments and your feedback have guided this website’s development since day one and it continues to be a big part of our strategy going forward.
You guide the content too. We’re regularly experimenting with different balances between news, original content and review/preview coverage. We watch traffic figures and add more of what’s popular, we read comments and notice when people aren’t enthusiastic about certain types of article. We listen to our readers and adjust accordingly. Most of the time you should be blissfully unaware of this process but it is literally always happening. We don’t do it because we love you (although you are pretty special), we do it because we know it will make us better at what we do. So thank you.
So what does 2011 have in store for TSA? Well, we’re currently preparing some very exciting upgrades to our community section and we’ll be working hard with our Community Team to make sure the improvements are fully utilised. In 2010 we launched our Nintendo coverage and have, so far, seen a very positive response. In 2011 we’re hoping to do the same thing with PC coverage. All the time our mobile coverage is increasing and we’re hoping that the Android platform will get a bit more love from TSA in the coming months.
Don’t worry though, any new platforms we cover will be in addition to the content you already get here. We won’t drop anything, we’ll just offer more options and we’ll give it the usual TSA flair and verve.
In short, we’re still building, still growing and still listening to you. We’re hoping for a very exciting 2011 and we hope you’re going to come along with us.
Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Everyone and thank you for promising to update the site further.
I hope 2011 will be as good as this year (and I love your dedication: “Dong. Dong. Dong. Yeah I’m not doing that 12 times” :D)
