Despite only PC players being up to the challenge (of reaching the magic 69 million mark), EA DICE have decided to start 2011 off with a bang and also unlock the Operation Hastings map for console players in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. From the Battlefield blog:
The Community Challenge was won by the PC players who managed to reach the 69 million mark first of all three platforms.
But, since we want to start this new year with a big of a bang as we ended it, we are enabling Operation Hastings for the PS3 and Xbox 360 as of today!
Today is actually yesterday (the 1st), so, off you go. Crank up that bad boy and get (some more of) your Nam on.

PC gamers got the game 3 days before release that is a fact, they say that the stats didn’t start until the 22nd but they didn’t say that they didn’t backdate the stats for the PC.
anyway, it doesn’t matter, seems like they were going to unlock it anyway, probably because they know that their stat system just doesn’t work, if you’ve played the game you’ll know that.

just aswell, noticed that more often than not (ps3) everyone just doing their own thing
occasionally you would get a match where teamwork was plentiful
stats showed 360 was overtaking ps3 everyday, 11million ahead last time i looked

that happens on all games, and all systems, not just on the PS3.
plus how can you trust stats for a game that has never had a working stat system, broken weapon/emblem stats and so on.
I still love the game though.

all I’m saying is that the stat system in this game is completely Fkd, so I wouldn’t be putting too much faith in any online stats, but yeah, I’d agree that the 360 would be ahead of the PS3
