Though often seen sporting a deerstalker hat and calabash pipe in multiple PC incarnations, the iconic Sherlock Holmes is set to grace next-gen HD consoles for the first time this year in new adventure The Testament of Sherlock. The scintillating detective tale will see Holmes face his greatest challenge yet: the accusation of a murder he struggles to prove he didn’t commit.
Players will be immersed in the London of 1898, honing the legendary sleuth’s skills when handling and inspecting clues, reenacting crimes and using the game’s deduction system to draw their own conclusions. Watson also pops up but, thankfully, Jude Law was too busy working on about three hundred other projects to lend his considerable voice talent.
Published by Focus Home Interactive and developed by Frogwares (this is their seventh Holmes venture), The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Testament of Sherlock is set for release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this autumn.

This is, of course, not the first Sherlock Holmes console game. Lets not forget the Phillips CDi game… actually maybe we should
Kovacs
Correct. Of course, I didn’t say it was the first console Holmes game.
:)

Which is, of course, why I didn’t say that you did :)
I just wanted to bring up that old piece of shite

Never played that sherlock game but gotta say the CD-i was wonderful and extremely under-rated.

I like detective and mystery style games so I hope this turns out to be a winner.

Has potential to be great. What’s the odds it doesn’t end up being great?
spooner_22

Broken Sword 3 was the first graphic adventure I played, and I still think it’s one of the best on consoles…

I really enjoy detective games, probably stems from my days playing Sam&Max. Has potential to great, but having potentialvdoesn’t mean it will.

I loved the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes movie. Why the hate on Jude Law? I think he did a good job and was a perfect match with Robert Downey Jr. Maybe it’s a “fan from the early days” thing, since I never really got into Sherlock Holmes material before the reboot.
Kovacs
No Jude Law hate here. I thought he did a fine job. It was a more a quip at how, at least at one point in time, was in EVERY movie made.
KeRaSh
Oh, my bad. Missinterpreted your line. :)

Looking forward to this. I really like Sherlock Holmes. The movie was fab

i’ve played a few sherlock holmes games, and while they were fun, they all had one major flaw, virtually zero replayability.
once you’ve solved the case there’s no reason to play again.
there was a fun version of the mega cd, but as i said, once you solved the cases, i think that game had two or three, that was it.
