Sometimes you wake up to news so disappointing you just want to kick a squirrel.
Today is such a day, with the confirmation that The Last Guardian and the HD re-release of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus have been pushed back, possibly until 2012.
“SCEE can confirm that we are officially delaying the release of ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection and The Last Guardian from their respective launch timeframes of Spring 2011 and Holiday/Winter 2011,” says the EU Blog. “We will provide more information regarding release timing at a later date.”
The re-releases were due to land sometime in spring, with The Last Guardian pencilled in for “holiday 2011”.
“I sincerely apologize to all the customers who have been waiting for The Last Guardian for so long, but I beg for your patience,” said Fumito Ueda. “I will also announce the new release timing at a later time.”
The Last Guardian’s delay makes sense in all honesty as it would be competing with titles such as Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and that’s a lot of quality titles shoved into the back end of this year.

Shame! But in a way I am a little pleased as I have no time for all these games!

NOOOO!!!
That’s a shame really, those two were along with Uncharted 3 my most anticipated games of this year. I’ll endure the wait, but only because I love you Ueda!

Meh, I was looking forward to this but getting a bit bored with all the delays. I would imagine I will lose interest over the coming months, read a out-of-the-blue TSA review for it next year and then buy it day one lol!

FUUUUUUU…. i was looking forward to getting it sometime this year. Oh well, at least i can focus on saving enough money to get it on day 1. I can now take it off my to get list for 2011.

I only have 3 words: ” Take THAT squirrel!” *grumbles*

If Ueda wants it delayed then so be it. Hopefully he’s not letting either TLG or the remakes to leave the stable until he’s absolutely happy with it all. Good on him.
Obviously if it takes longer than six years, I’ll pop a bollock!

Soon this will compete with GT5 for the longest development time ever :)

Hehe I do exactly the same for Deus Ex.

Oh well. Was looking forward to them. But hey, there are loads (probably too many lol) to be getting on with.
