New Releases: May 30th-June 5th

Phew! The flood of releases in recent weeks that has seen titles like Portal 2, LA Noire, Dirt 3 and many others lighten our wallets has slowed to a trickle with just one multi-format title on store shelves this week.  Fortunately, it’s a big one – Hunted has been a regular here on TSA and our latest hands-on preview was rather positive about the whole thing.  Also good to see another 3DS game trickle out before the behemoth that is Zelda hits in a couple of weeks.

What catches your eye this week?

Hunted: The Demon’s Forge

Platforms: 360, PC, PS3

Synopsis: Hunted: The Demon’s Forge is a fresh take on the classic fantasy game that delivers the intensity and action of a modern-day shooter. Taking control of either E’lara, a ranged weapon expert, or Caddoc, a master swordsman, you and your partner will descend into a dark and foreboding world for an unforgettable cooperative experience. As you travel deep within the world of Kala Moor, you will use a variety of deadly weapons, powerful spells, and cover tactics to face down wave after wave of vicious enemies.

It will take the combined efforts of two great warriors to explore menacing dungeons, overgrown ruins, and downtrodden towns … and discover the secrets of the Demon’s Forge.

Sports Island 3D

Synopsis: Sports Island 3D allows up to four players to participate in events designed to show off the 3D capabilities of the handheld. The ten sports on offer are Soccer (or  football as it should be called), Tennis, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Snowball Fighting, Sumo Wrestling, Bowling, Snowmobile Racing, Sport Blowgun and Trampoline. Each demands different skills from the user, and has been designed to make stunning use of the additional depth of field the format offers.

The Sims 3: Generations

Traffic Manager

Synopsis: Take control of a living breathing virtual city and relegate road rage to history as you make all the transport infrastructure decisions… Will you build bigger and better roads? Will you try traffic lights at that snarled up intersection? Perhaps, the answer is to convince the citizens of your city to leave their cars at home and transfer to public transport as you build a network of buses and trams.
