Mortal Kombat Skarlet DLC Trailer

NetherRealm Studios has officially revealed Skarlet as a playable character in Mortal Kombat. It was recently announced that she will be available as DLC sometime in June. We’ll get some hands-on time with the new character next week at E3.

From what I can tell from the trailer, Skarlet has quite a few tricks. You’ll notice that blood is her primary gimmick. It’s a bit disgusting but it does give her some unique visual traits and moves. Her enhanced special attack in the air throws three kunais in three different angles. You can tell that it’s going to be a useful technique for controlling space and catching opponents off guard.

Check out the trailer below.

Skarlet won’t be the only DLC coming soon. All of the pre-order DLC will also be available to purchase for $4.99 (400 Microsoft points) in a special bundle pack on June 7th. It includes the klassic kostumes for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana. In addition to that, you’ll also have access to klassic fatalities for Scorpion, Reptile, and Sub-Zero.

A patch for Mortal Kombat is also on the way. The update will properly tweak the balance of many characters in the game. It should make things a lot better for competitive play. I talked to a few people from NetherRealm Studios over the weekend and I’m quite pleased with some of the things that they’re working on. The team is listening to the community and they really want to make the game the best it can possibly be. Hopefully they can make it happen.

  1. Too many awesome games out….

  2. Skarlet looks absolutely tremendous! :D

  3. Her voice is irritating, but she looks interesting.

  4. *Kontent sigh*

    • I know, right. I hoped that with this game being a reboot, and a bit more up to date they’d have dropped this tired trend but sadly not.

  5. Classic fatalities will be cool. Sub Zero’s spine rip is legendary to the franchise

  6. is there a shortage of virtual cloth or something?

although, with the way her powers seem to work, exposing a lot of flesh when you’re fighting people with sharp bladed weapons might be to her advantage.

wow, there’s a first, a woman in a fighting game with a legitimate reason for wearing the skimpiest outfit possible.

but i doubt that was the thinking behind her outfit.
i mean, i doubt there’s a military on the planet where the women’s uniform looks anything like what sonya blade wears.

    • Yeah, I hate the way the outfits spoil the realism of this game ;)

  7. Mmmm bewbs… :3

  8. Awesome, I really need to get back to Mortal Kombat online soon!

  9. Been avoiding buying this game but it’s starting to entice me ;)
