Hideo Kojima has released some new details regarding the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. When it was first announced we had no idea which versions of MGS2 and MGS3 were going to be included in the package. It seems like most of our questions have been answered.
Both games are being ported by Bluepoint Games, the same team that did the God of War Collection. The version of MGS3 included in the collection will be Subsistence. This means that you’ll have full camera control instead of being forced to use the locked angles from the original. The game will also run at 60 frames per second. That’s double the frame rate of its PS2 counterpart, an upgrade that fans will easily appreciate. MGS2 will also run at 60fps (like it did on the PS2), although it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting the content from Substance.
It was revealed that Peace Walker HD will not just be a simple port. Many of the assets have been remade and the feel of the game is “completely new”. Peace Walker will have trophies, achievements, improved audio quality, and other improvements such as dual analog support. It was also noted that PS3 owners will get a voucher to download the PSP version of Peace Walker, at least in Japan.
PS3 owners will have the ability to transfer content thanks to the new “Transfarring” mechanic. For Peace Walker HD, you’ll get to transfer your saves between the PS3 and PSP in a matter of seconds. MGS2 and MGS3 will have Transfarring support for the NGP. According to Kojima, the PSP just can’t deliver the quality of the PS2 classics.
If you missed the Konami pre-E3 press conference, the idea of Transfarring isn’t exactly new. Basically, it’s the same idea that works for PSone Classics. You can transfer the game and saves from the PSP and PS3 and continue progress wherever you go. Kojima mentioned that he has big plans for the concept.
The first step involves Transfarring saves between the PSP and PS3. Step two takes it a bit further and brings PS2 class games to the PS3 and NGP and allows for Transfarring between both platforms. The third and final step is to bring new PS3 games to the NGP, giving you to ability to use Transfarring on day one.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is set to release in November 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. In Japan, you’ll also get a PSone Classic voucher for Metal Gear Solid (PS3 only). Hopefully there will be a similar promo in North America and Europe.

Oh wait is MGS2 and MGS2 sons of liberty the same thing? If not what do we get. Because In MGS2 SOL theres raidens side and snakes side. Do we get them both?? MGS2 SOL is probably my all time favourite game ever.
Man I even rerember the evil menu, when I was younger, like 10 or less I couldn’t find out how to start the game as I kept pushing x, I was meant to push the o button, thing is my dad didn’t know what to do either lol. We thought that the game was faulty, but nevertheless he stayed up all night and found out what to do :D
