Now to business. Battlefield 3 has been given a release date of October 25th, beating Modern Warfare 3 by two weeks. There will also be a multi-platform open beta in September. A new trailer is doing the rounds, and we will try and grab it for you.

Look you guys know im a huge unashamed Battlefield fanboy and proud of it so thats out the way . I think this is a shrewd move by EA and though it will never outsell the latest CoD hopefully this will help them make more deserved sales .

As a debating point, is it a risky strategy to release before payday, not after it. Won’t make the biggest difference but maybe a few % of walk-in sales will be put off for a week or so… and then CoD is out

A lot of news about NFS, Mass Effect, The Sims, Battlefield… ah, dammit, I missed the EA conference!
I would’ve preferred they’d release it in early September. Dark Souls will be out in October and Skyrim in November. Dead Island is also sometime around those dates… Oh well, there’s always time for some good rounds of Battlefield :)

There was no doubt that it looked incredible, but that tank level was REALLY boring. Showing on-foot things in the same vein as the previous trailer, would’ve had more impact.
