The King Of Fighters-i Released For iOS

Here’s a game that came out of nowhere. SNK has just released The King of Fighters-i for the iPhone/iPod Touch. This isn’t a port of an older KoF. It looks like it’s actually based off of The King of Fighters XIII, the latest entry in the series.

KoF-i features four single player modes. There’s the traditional 3-on-3 fighting, singles matches, a survival mode, and training. The game includes 14 fighters to choose from, including Billy Kane from Fatal Fury who is also being added to the console version of KoF XIII. Six more characters will be added to the roster, free of charge, by October.

There’s also a Gallery Mode where you can view trading cards, various types of artwork, and even watch movies straight from KoF XIII. Unlike the recently released Street Fighter IV Volt, there is no online multiplayer mode. You’ll have to do all your battles locally via Bluetooth. You can also trade cards and send and receive replay data from other players.

It sure looks impressive, but I’m not sure if it’s worth $7.99. Check out the 10 minute gameplay video below.

  1. looks good but i can’t imagine playing a game like that with a touch screen.
i have enough trouble pulling off moves with a dpad, let alone a virtual dpad.

  2. Xperia play please……
