Namco Bandai Games has announced that a demo for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is on the way. The demo will be included in Tekken Hybrid exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
Tekken Hybrid features the new Tekken: Blood Vengeance CG movie and a remastered version of the first Tekken Tag Tournament. Namco has confirmed that Tekken Tag HD will not have any online multiplayer functionality. However, including a demo for Tekken Tag 2 has just solidified this as a must have for any Tekken fan. Hybrid is expected to hit store shelves sometime in the fall.
Update: Katsuhiro Harada announced some details on the live stream. All of the gameplay mechanics from Tekken Tag 2 are present in Prologue. So far only Xiaoyu, Alisa, and Devil have been shown. The developers didn’t just take a part of the arcade version and port it onto the disc. There will be some surprises and it’s tied to the movie itself. For instance, Xiaoyu will have her costume from Blood Vengeance.
Namco is also planning on including a 3D model viewer. As of right now, versus matches can be played in 3D but it’s uncertain if that will make it into the final cut.
