We’re all aware of the big Nintendo news of last week, with the rather large 3DS price cut. To compensate early adopters of the console Nintendo will be offering a total of 20 downloadable titles. Ten of these will be from the NES back catalogue, but the rest will be exclusive Game Boy Advance games.
So far we were aware of Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
Now we can add Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Kirby & the Amazing Mirror to the list.

Minish Cap and they’ve basically got all the best GBA games in one go.

Pokémon would like to say hi.

Happy enough with that list.

Hmm, intersting. A lot f Mario games are on that list, not that it is a bad thing but they seem to be banking on the power of the Mario franchise to pull in some new people.

Does seem odd though given that they are the more “sellable” games in the Nintendo catalogue, I mean the numbers that Super Mario Galaxy still shifts on the Wii demonstrate that. I guess the games are going to be on sale to those who didn’t buy into 3DS prior to the end of August though.

but this isn’t for pulling in new people is it?
it’s for those who bought the 3ds already.
if they make them available to others later on, selling them on the store for example, then they could pull in new people.

What does these NES and GBA games cost on the eStore? Does the prices even out the costs? Anyway, that’s seemingly a very strong list of great games. And are they exclusive as in no one else can buy them, or are they timed exclusive, or is the word exclusive just used to promote? 20 free games is very good. I won’t be getting a 3DS this year anyway though, going t hold off to see if the Vita might be the one for me, as I can only justify buying one.

There are no NES or GBA games on the store yet. The original Gameboy games range form €3/300 nintendo pts for the likes of Donley Kong to €6/600 points for Zelda Link’s Awakening.

Ok, thanks. That’s not bad pricing!

I’d be delighted if they add Super Mario World on to that list. Can’t remember if it was Super Mario Advance 1 or 2!

I don’t know which one it was but I would possibly say I’d be happy with only one free game if it was that one.

Super Mario World was Super Mario Advance 2. I know this because I played that awesome game to the point until I maxed out the score counter.
I already had Mario vs. Donkey Kong (my first GBA game; still have it, too), Mario Kart: Super Circuit (sold it), Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 (still have that one too), and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (sold that too). I’m willing to try out Metroid: Fusion, WarioWare, Inc., and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror as well.
Personally, I’d also like to see Super Mario World hit the list (that game is great, whether it’s on GBA or SNES), Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (that way I’ll have the trilogy for one system), and any of the Donkey Kong Country remakes (preferably Diddy’s Kong-Quest). I’d also like to see a RELEASE DATE sometime soon too.
