Mercury first appeared on the PSP back in the day, and was a cute, addictively little puzzler based on some nice liquid physics.
Mercury Hg is the latest version of the game, which UTV tell us “expands on the addictive qualities of its predecessors” and offers up sixty brand new levels.
It’s out on PS3 and Xbox 360 (via the stores) for £3.99 (or 400 points) at the end of September. The PS3 version will use the SIXAXIS to move the blob.

A game that uses the SIXAXIS controls? Who would’ve thought we’d ever see one of those again? ;)
colossalblue
Killzone 3 had them for bits, I think. Journey has them for camera controls too. I would imagine that the SIXAXIS branding on the Vita’s gryo tilt controls will mean we’ll see it a lot more. As long as it’s optional, eh?
Guyers94
I think developers stayed away when they realised they’d never make a SIXAXIS game as good as Super Rub A Dub was at launch. That was the first PSN game I bought and it’s amazing!

Didn’t Archer McLean want to release some kind of yaw pitch and roll controller to attach to the PSP with the original Mercury?
I’m sure I remember reading that somewhere.

“Good news, everyone”, as the professor would say.

Archer MacLean is an 8 bit gaming legend, nice to see the game return.. is he still involved?
Gaztee
If I remember from a conversation he was having in May, he has nothing to do with the game now. He is indeed a top bloke & has some interesting stories about the industry!

This is great news. Definate purchase for me.

Screens remind me of Marble Madness, loved that game.

Same here, which has me curious already. God bless Marble Madness days. :-)

Ah, I remember this game. The screens look beautiful.
