Someone has managed to evade the Gamescom anti-spying systems and sneak out a video of the PS Vita’s user interface.
There isn’t a lot of new info, aside from the way the menus animate and the apparently unresponsive touchscreen. We would expect that issue to be ironed out long before the device is sent to store shelves (and it’s always difficult to tell how much is unresponsive touchscreen and how much is clumsy fingers).

There isn’t a lot to go on, and from the ending of this video we assume that people are being discouraged from filming.
What is there looks pretty and when the device is filled with apps and games it should take away a lot of the blank spaces too. Oh, and at one point the guy finds a reference to PSP software and ponders as to whether that means backward compatibility. We’ll see.

I thought touch displays were meant to be pressed with thumbs, it looks like he’s prodding his finger at everything and so isn’t working. That and he misses most of the buttons.

Interesting how this may turn out for the PS4, like the XMB is getting replaced by Livearea right?

I’m certain the official video will look much better – at least we’ll be able to see more than screen glare and fuzzy illegible menus.

Vertical line on the camera is annoying. Needs a new block (in-joke)

Expect an xmb revamp to bring it in line with the vita menu system, kinda like xbox nxe…. At which point they’ll add other features like omgcrozzgaymechatzinnit
