The first ads for the newly price-dropped PlayStation 3 have surfaced as Sony starts a fresh campaign to get people to realise the difference.
It’s an attractive proposition, although individual retailers are sure to push those margins as hard as possible – you’re able to grab one for a tenner or so less already.
The strong, bold advert shown here (clickable) will feature across the nation via five thousand roadside posters, and print versions have already been spotted in the press.
We’re fairly sure the majority of TSA’s readers already have (or have access to) a PS3, but if you don’t, or are looking to upgrade to a Slim model, what do you think of the advert and is the price cut tempting enough?

Why are dumb-ass ‘Argos’ still showing the 160GB PS3 at £249 for? :-/
Anyway i might get another one. That newer model that came out in Japan a few months ago i want(uses less power etc etc)
But i still want a PS3 with PS2 playback(yep i will never stop asking) LoL

That might be the K chassis. I purposely didn’t want that one as it stops you from
being able to use a component cable for HD. Just as a heads-up… :)

It’s a good price. Psychologically, it’s a great price. Sony will shift a serious number of units from here on in.

I imagine that is what they have planned, the PS2 sold rapidly when the price dropped <£200

They should have used the suprised granny on the poster. It works. Seeing as mine could die by the end of the year, i wonder if some shops will try to get the price down to £150. ^_^

I was gonna get a Slim for around Summer but it didn’t happen, so this is great timing. Now i wonder if I should just get a white one because I never get White.

Ooooh tempting, but you may have to wait a little while longer as they’re only in Japan at the minute. Think they’re scheduled for a pre-christmass release.

I got a 320GB slim for £195 about 6 months ago in a random great deal (no games though). Imagine how low some of these ‘great deals’ might end up being now!
