Battlefield 3 iOS Screens Impress

We all know Battlefield 3 is coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in October. However, an iOS supplement will also be released.

Following the success of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on iOS, the game features both singleplayer and multiplayer modes and is developed by EA Mobile.

We reviewed the iOS version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 last year and found it was of a high standard for an iPhone game – great graphics, sublime multiplayer and a superb length all for the price of 59p. If Battlefield 3 iOS manages to achieve this again, then mobile gamers are in for a treat when it releases later this year.

There’s some screens below, it certainly looks nice for a mobile game.

  1. Please Dice I just want a PS Vita version! That would be lovely.

    • That would be awesome, I doubt it though :( These screens do like pretty good for iOS though.

      • Why not? It has dual analog sticks, it’s perfect!

A CoD has already been announced. If that is near to the experience on the PS3/XBOX360, it will sell like hot cake!

      • agreed here, that would be excellent

    • I second. Battlefield Vita please!

    • And xp……

  2. is the guy reloading in the first 2 screenshots, or is he just really crap at aiming?!

  3. The iOS version will be called Battlefield 3: Aftershock.
“Aftershock won’t have a traditional campaign. Rather, it’ll boast a series of instance-based Horde modes that will have you squaring off against waves with the BF universe’s diverse set of modern combat guns and items”
“Aftershock will also have what it calls a “classic” multiplayer mode to go alongside of this.”

  4. I got on quite well with BFBC2 on iOS so I’ll probably be investing in this one too. What did I ever do at work before the iPhone :)

  5. I looks great, and I love the idea of having Battlefield 3 on a portable device that I’d always have with me – but I just can’t get on with the “no buttons” thing. It just doesn’t feel right to me, dragging your thumb across invisible analogue sticks, when all you achieve is a smear on your iPhone and an obscured view of the game. In a perfect world I would be able to not be so cack-handed with a touch screen and enjoy pocket-sized versions of console games like BF, and FIFA. That said, in a perfect world, the Xperia Play wouldn’t be shit.

    • I partly agree with the touch screen issue, for me it works brilliantly right up until you get the slightest of sweats on then it becomes almost unplayable

  6. Very impressive screens for a mobile device. If I ever get round to getting an idevice I shall certainly get this. Although, I would find it a bit annoying using the touch screen for an FPS.

    • Don’t bother, FPS games just do not work on touchscreens. The level of control you have is far too vague and becomes very irritating very quickly.

Would definately be tempted by BF3 on Vita though, assuming it’s a proper game and not just a cut down one like on IOS.

  7. Release it on Vita!!! Seriously it have 2 analog sticks which would be so much better than touch.

  8. Looks great. As others have said, a Vita release would be super.
