Analyst firm Mizuho Securities has raised the Capcom target stock price from Â¥2,200 to ¥2,600, anticipating that the Japanese publisher will continue to “outperform.” This is mainly driven by the prospect of two expected Capcom announcements at this year’s Tokyo Game Show including an SNS Snoopy title and the next instalment in one of the company’s flagship series, Monster Hunter.
Though it has struggled to shift units overseas, Monster Hunter has a colossal following in Japan, numerous publishers having tried to emulate its addictive formula over the years.
The “PSP Remaster” edition of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd was launched last week in Japan, a move which we have interpreted as wiping the slate clean for a new generation of Monster Hunter titles. With PlayStation Vita on the horizon and fans still baying for a proper PlayStation 3 Monster Hunter experience (MHP3HD is a re-hash at its core,) we expect Capcom to announce a new game which will enhance the series’ already fantastic online gameplay by merging online connectivity between both Sony consoles.
It’s no doubt a Monster Hunter fanboy’s biggest dream, and entirely logical from a general point of view but Capcom has been known to disappoint in the past, a bitter taste still residing after Monster Hunter Tri was switched from being a PS3 title to a Wii exclusive.

the franchise definitely needs either a new game over here in the western world, or the rehash needs launching quicker.
From an avid player of Tri and all the previous games, most people are starting to get bored now and a new challenge is needed…
hey, a new MH for PS3 in time for christmas or spring next year could probably push the franchise real good into the western market
COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“…but Capcom has been known to disappoint in the past…”
I don’t understand why they refuse to release their flagship franchise on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s like they have a money printing machine in their basement but for some reason they are not using it.

agreed, MH is easily one of the best games Ive ever played.

Here’s hoping it’s not a Wii/360 exclusive as i would love to play a PS3 MH game.

OH please, please, please no signs of desperation from Microsoft, we know how bad the Xbox 360 is performing in Japan. It wouldn’t surprise me if it ended being an Xbox exclusive or something.
I’d just hate to see Capcom pissing people off again.

If this isn’t Monster Hunter for PS3 then I officially give up on Capcom.
