What Do You Want From TSA At EGX?

In exactly one week’s time, I’ll be in London town. Hopefully, I’ll be settling into the house I’ve rented for the week and making a shopping list of alcoholic beverages so that the fridge is well stocked for when everyone else arrives.

[drop2]I’ll be in London for the Eurogamer Expo which kicks off on Thursday the 22nd but I’ll be there early because I have to collect keys for the house and make sure everything is set up so we can keep the site ticking along as smoothly as possible. Kris is due to arrive after he watches Liverpool put Brighton out of the League Cup on Wednesday night and we’re aiming to hit the Expo on Thursday, bright and early. We want to get plenty done before Blair’s arrival at the house early on Friday morning and another day of playing games and talking to developers.

Late on Friday evening (we think), Alex will arrive and on Saturday we’re heading back to the show to see anything we missed. We’re hoping that most of what we need to see, to write about and report on, will be seen on Thursday and Friday so that Saturday and Sunday can be fun days.

You see, we’re sure there will be lots to see and do at the Expo, it’s their biggest event yet. We’re looking forward to seeing some of the unreleased games and grabbing time with the guys who make them. Most of all, though, we’re looking forward to meeting people. The place will be full of the developers, publishers and PR guys we talk to via email and phone every week so it will be good to meet them and cement our relationships (it’s beer that does that, right?).

There will be several staff members dropping in or staying with us over the course of the week and a few of our closest community friends have also already arranged to drop in. We’re hoping that Saturday and Sunday will provide the opportunity to meet as many of you guys as possible too.

As regular visitors will be aware, we love you guys. We put so much time and effort into answering your comments, running competitions, providing the content you request and giving you the opportunities to meet up and play against each other (and us, sometimes) because it’s you that makes TSA different. Personally, I genuinely feel that some of you are friends now and I know that it will be great to meet you, get schooled on some unreleased game’s demo and then head to the pub for drinks.

Without our core community of dedicated commenters, readers, listeners (and… viewers?) we would just be a group of enthusiasts talking to ourselves about games. You guys provide the discussion and we’ve always valued that so much.

So, we thought we’d give you a say in what we do at the Expo. We were thinking that we’d get a few podcasts hastily thrown together and we’re taking a video camera with us so we’ll try to grab some interesting videos. We’ll also be gathering at a local pub one evening so hopefully many of you will come and see us. Mostly, we want you to tell us what you want to see. We’ve had a few ideas ourselves and we’re trying to make those things happen but we want to know what you would like from TSA’s first multi-faceted attack on a big gaming show.

What would you like the podcasts to cover? What video content would you like to see? Do you want formal interviews or casual chats with the game makers? You can even let us know what games you’re particularly interested in hearing us talk about so we can try to shape our approach to best suit you.

TSA is managed and staffed by us but it’s run for you. Let us know what you want in the comments below and we’ll do our best to make our coverage memorable for you.

    Anywho, I’d like to see and or hear/ read (preferably see and preferably not hear) more of NFS: The Run, R&C: A4O, ACR, RAGE, maybe Prey 2 if it’s there (probably not) and, ermm, yeah, if there’s more U3 details I’d like to hear if them, of course. Is any of this relevant?! I dunno what’s gonna be there so I may of wasted my time.

  7. Can you please do a wandering commentary on here (presumably you’ll be doing so on twitter, which I don’t use!)? Pictures of you all doing interviews and playing games would be great too! It would be nice to feel like we could follow you about the place.

  8. A video diary of the week would be a fun watch. Including drunken events! Would be nice to see you guys in action, beyond just words on a page.

      • The wife is due to give birth any time between now and the end of the month. With my luck it would be the second I got to London.

      • Congratulations! Remember phone charger, and to rub her back. These 2 things should see you through. And you should practice your strut (to walk up and down the baby ward with other proud Dads). Funny, I found out my wife is pregnant for the second time yesterday.

  10. I’d personally like to see more from the PS Vita (if its being shown at EGX), especially games like Gravity Daze and Sound Shapes which are a little more mysterious.
