  1. Glad I waited before buying this. Just been playing through the legendary game that is Civ 4: BTS, is this a better game overall?

    • I much prefer civ 4, but its still pretty good :)

    • civ IV is epic but civ V is quite good, especially the tactical combat.

    • Yeah, I prefer Civ 4: BTS on the whole, but I do like the tactical changes brought about by the hexagonal map, and the inability to stack units – made war far more complicated than marching a stack of attack and defense base units across the enemy border. Plus it looks a lot better, more looking more like Civ Rev than Civ 4.

  2. Is this the 3rd GOTY edition of a game released in two days?
Is there no criteria at all for the title?

    • I meant announced not released :)

    • It doesn’t seem like there is.

      • This, Red Dead and LA Noire.

  3. Did i miss the GOTY awards? As i can’t recall reading about it. I swear that in order to have a GOTY edition, you need to win at least one GOTY award. I haven’t played any Civ games so i won’t be getting this atm due to a lack of interest.

    • You haven’t played a Civ game? In that case your lack of interest is brought about by your own ignorance. They are irrefutably some of the best games on PC.

  4. Sounds lovely. Any word on a Mac release?

  5. Aww man and I just bought it this weekend. Oh well.

  6. So glad I held out, they always do a complete edition. Really looking forward to this, I still play Civ IV regularly and even go back to Civ III every now and then.

The only complaint I have of these games is how many hours of my life have been eaten up by them, if you can call that a complaint. ; )

    • Yeah, the Civilization Anonymous/One More Turn Syndrome ad campaign they did for Civ 5 was frighteningly accurate!
