Ninja Theory have confirmed they will not work on an Enslaved sequel.
In an interview with Edge Magazine studio co founder, Tameem Antoniades said:
“Enslaved should have done better. Right now we should have been doing a sequel and perfecting that sequel and doing what franchises do, which is get better over time.”
Since its release last year, Enslaved struggled with sales even though it was received well by press and those who played it.
Even though it may not get a sequel now I’m still going to tell you lot to buy it because it is an excellent game.

I thoroughly enjoyed Enslaved but at least it wasn’t a game that necessarily needed a sequel, especially after THAT ending…

Yeah that was my thought. Great game, but the story has been told now. I’d rather they moved on and made something as imaginative in a new world.

I agree never thought a sequeal would do as it might flop with poor story etc… but still Enslaved is fantastic and it’s still in my collection ^^

Awesome game despite being filled with performance issues on the PS3, but also proof that you can’t release a new IP in this day and age and expect it to do well :(

The problem wasn’t the fact that it was a new IP, it was the games marketability. Compare this game with Uncharted 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum and tell me which universe you can connect to more XD.

Superb game, if you like Uncharted this is a similar sort of game and about 12 quid in Morrisons at the mo.

I missed this at release and only bought it as every TSA-er seems to love it. I played through it and finished it only last week.
No sequel = sad panda

Although it was a great game it didn’t need a sequel. At least the Enslaved name can hold it’s head up high without being dragged out into a meaningless, watered down sequel.

Its a great shame – the original was a tad repetitive but featured one of the best sci-fi stories around. Sad it didn’t sell very well. Perhaps they’ll get Anna torv back :-)

Shame for the fans but the time spent on Enslaved isn’t exactly wasted and I prefer to see new IPs anyhow. Was there a demo? Something about the world and style of the game doesn’t draw me in… don’t know why. Perhaps it’s one of those that I need to try first.
