Batman: Arkham City DLC Has Problems

There appears to be a problem with both the PS3 and Xbox Batman DLC, in fact there appear to be numerous problems that are breaking the game.

“I cant even get past the first few minutes of the game without getting this message saying that my downloadable content is damaged and I don’t have anything downloaded,” posted one annoyed Batfan on the Rocksteady forums.

Rocksteady recommend deleting any DLC and reinstalling but this does not seem to work. The problem also appears to be affecting the Robin DLC to some extent and results in the game freezing, crashing and generally not working too well.

Another forum user has reported that the coupon for the Catwoman DLC in his brand new copy of the game was blank.  “We are working with Warner on this problem now,” responded Sarah Wellock, European Community Manager of Rocksteady Studios.

Yet more users are reporting that their brand new codes in sealed boxes have already been redeemed.

Meanwhile over on the PS3 users are reporting corrupted save games and game freezing after the Catwoman DLC has been installed.

“We are looking into Catwoman DLC problems so please stay tuned” was the latest message on the Batman Twitter feed.

  1. What a mess up this game has become. The usual ‘get the money, test it later attitude’

  2. Blank code cards?
I think the last time this happened with a major game (I think it was Ubisoft’s Driver) they made the online free, right? (As in, they cancelled the online pass)
Anybody think the same will happen here?

    • It should, but i am of the opinion that it probably won’t (due to the fact that it was a bit of a bum move to put codes into this game in the first place) – I reckon they’ll ship out proper codes to the stores which can then be redeemed with a proof of purchase or something.

Of course, i would be more than happy to be proven wrong. :)

  3. I’m glad the US got the game before UK now. They deserve the bugs for getting it earlier then the rest of the world – use them as the guinepigs to test things out. Hahaha Pity its happened its been in development for 2-2.5 years now they should of tested it before launch.

  4. Numerous PS3 users are now reporting ‘choppy audio’ and the DLC code problems continue as it appears some games arent even coming with a voucher, blank or otherwise.

  5. And this game gets 95% on Metacritic.

As a game, it probably deserves it. As a commercial product, it’s a pile of smoking crap half-tested by QA and put on shelves with broken (downloadable) content.

The current state of triple A videogame market is unacceptable. Consumers are treated like shit, yet publishers dare to complain about everything. Bloody thieves.

  6. I hope this comes back to haunt WB again & again & again etc………I do feel sorry for the poor sods who bought the game & are affected by this though.

  7. So not only do they implent the shit idea of online pass when there it is single player only, they cba to test the DLC before release. Bad show Rocksteady but karma is a bitch sometimes. :)

  8. Tempted to cancel my pre-order…

  9. May this be a wake up call to the game publishers/devs out there not to make online passes. Oh well they’re loosing some money to the second hand gamers BUT they’re probably loosing more money this way with all the cock-ups that’s happens and happening with DLC errors and the messed up coupons. And it wont make their first week sales as high as it should once the word passes on! I’m hoping they’ll fix the issue before it is released to the UK!

  10. Cancelled my preorder just due to that fact that i lost interest in the game somewhere along the bullshit marketing measures path. Then watched the gameplay vids and it’s now ‘just’ a sequel i’ll play sometime whenever, filed next to every Assasins Creed game in my sub 20quid brain library.
