Skyrim Set To Generate $450 Million In Sales

Bethesda has just released figures relating to Skyrim’s launch, including a figure of 7 Million Units shipped. Bethesda has also released some other impressive figures.

“More than 50% of launch units were sold in the first 48 hours and Bethesda Softworks has been receiving large reorders from major retailers in the North America, and across Europe and Australia.  Online activity has been notable, with Steam reporting that in the first 24 hours of its release, Skyrim set a record with over 280,000 concurrent players, far outdistancing all other titles… launch units are expected to generate more than $450 million in global retail sales.”

Skyrim has also received over 50 perfect review scores.  Robert Altman, CEO of Zenimax Media, parent of Bethesda, has said:

“Skyrim has surpassed any game in our company’s history, and we are pleased that sales and reviews have reflected the quality and hours of amazing gameplay it provides.”

Todd Howard, Skyrim’s Game Director, called Skyrim “our most ambitious project ever.”

  1. Genuinely the most fun, engrossing game I’ve played for a long time. The seemingly unending depth and long length of the game are going to make it one hell of an addictive game! I love it. My best gmae of the year, and I’ve played a lot.
