The DICE team has announced that a PC update for Battlefield 3 is due this week.
A full patch list is incoming, but for now we know that the update will see:
Improved polish, stability, weapons balancing, squad control functionality, user interface enhancements, and several feature enhancements that address feedback the community has provided to date.
“Plus we’re removing the so called ‘negative mouse acceleration’ that some of you have experienced,” continued the post.
DICE has also issued a reminder that they analyse data, and cheaters will be hit with the ban-hammer.

Good stuff, shouldn’t really have taken this long but its only following the pattern set by previous BF games.

good to hear they are patching consoles, but there are plenty of things that need looking at that could keep them busy till the next game comes out.

Actually this was for the PC update. They said they’ll announce the details for the console patch when their patch gets approved.
Maybe some of the above details might make it onto console.

I’d just love it if the ban-hammer was a real and very large ornate hammer…
