Meet the Reader: Snakefingers13

If you had to choose just one all time favourite game (Oh, and you do!) what would it be?

Oh dear…

I think I have a top 3, in terms of hours played without loss of fun. Oblivion was an amazing game, and I played well over 50 hours without even thinking about the main quest or going into dungeons. I own it for PC, so the mods were fantastic too.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is another brilliant game, and the franchise continues to improve. Not played Assassin’s Creed: Revelations yet, but I have high hopes.

Finally, Burnout Paradise is one of the best games I have ever played. I’ve completed it three times on two different platforms, and I had lots of fun at the TSA meets too.

Some great choices there. However, now I’m going to ask you what the worst, most embarrassing game you’ve ever played is. Or maybe it’s something you bizarrely enjoyed as a guilty pleasure?

I guess it’d have to be something I had to endure when my sister was stuck on a game and wanted help.

My Little Pony?

More like Wall-E and The Simpsons Game, I’ve never been a brony. Although I must confess I enjoy playing Cooking Mama 2 on the DS. That’s probably as embarrassing as you can get.

You’ll make a wonderful wife one day. OK, we should move along, as you’ve that football match to watch! How did you first come across TSA, and what was it that convinced you to sign up to our wonderful, if slightly oddball community?

I found TSA, like many, via Google whilst searching for trophy information. Probably trying to find the identity of a hidden trophy in whatever game I was playing at the time. I read a few articles whilst I was there, got hooked and eventually signed up, and I’ve been around for a couple of years now.

Excellent. Do you have any particular favourite features that TSA has or still does run?

Possibly my favourite feature was Abridged Too Far (a popular choice, I know). At the moment I keep my eye on What We Played and the Community Round-up. The Adventures of Strongfury are good too.

Did you like Steven’s attempt at the round-up last week?

It was… eclectic, but enjoyable!

Ha! It was certainly quite polarising. As you said, you have been around for a few years now, and I believe you’ve taken part in a few competitions? What ones have you particularly enjoyed?

Not as many competitions as I would have liked. Unfortunately, competitions take place shortly after the release of a game, and finances tend to mean that’s at least 6 months before I get it.

Though I bit the bullet and pre-ordered F1 2011 to try my luck in the TSA F1 championship. I qualified for the final by the skin of my teeth.

There were a couple close calls getting into the finals! How do you reckon you’ll do?

Not very well, I’m afraid. Split/Second arrived from LoveFilm, so I’ve been playing that instead of practicing.

Oh dear… Well, you never know. Anything can happen in F1!

Top 10 would be ideal, but I doubt I’ll be on the podium.

Again, since you’ve been around on TSA for a long while, are there any TSA-ers you’d like to meet some day? Quite a few people got some face time at this year’s EGX, for example.

I’d like to meet any of the guys I’ve played with at TSA Meets, I guess. In particular the racers who I’ve had a great few weeks with in Group C in the F1 championship. I also intend to go down to EGX in a couple of years, so I might see some there.

Good stuff. Now it’s time for the oddest of the questions on the list. Snog, Civil Partnership, Smother from Peter, Lewis and Kris?

I anticipated this, so I’ve put some thought to it. Not in a weird way or anything…

Of course not.

I’d marry Kris, so I could have unlimited access to his collection of comics. Snog Peter, to trick him into giving me control of TSA. Then smother Lewis, so I could take credit for any of his musical ideas.

Peter never dies.

Peter never dies because there’s probably a clause in his will giving full control of TSA to you. Scary thoughts.

Don’t forget Lewis’ huge DVD collection, you could steal them all!

Excellent!

Maybe there’s a DVD in there somewhere called The Sound Of Music 2: Nuclear Occurrences. Might come in handy for the Nobel Committee. Maybe plutonium has a penchant for the Von Trapps.

Oh fantastic! You brought us full circle, just in time for the end of the interview! How did you find out about that? Well this is the end of our little chat. Do you have any final words to the readers?

Live Long and Prosper? Don’t trust Greeks bearing gifts. The European Union should have listened to that.

  1. Nice read. Playing Alien from an early age is crazy, I still get scared of them now! Was the PS1 literately in the fireplace?

  2. such a hilarious article! xD
glad to meet + get to know more about you

if its any consolation, I was rubbish at Cool Boarders 2 as well even though I was determined to keep playing it. Kept smashing off the invisible walls.

    • I also have to mention that having met peter, if you seriously want to snog him then your going to need some heavy duty step ladders boyo.

  3. Funny stuff. :)

  4. I used to play the cornet, and then I moved onto the trumpet. Size matters, you know… ;)

    • I didn’t know ice creams could be played as a musical instrument!

    • Overcompensating? :P

    • I’ve made that migration too.
Although, seeing as I’ve also played the Tuba in the past, I win.

  5. Hey I’m from Norfolk!!!

And I only have 12 fingers, I’ll let you know :-)

  6. Great interview. Really interesting and good to see a fan of Strongfury.

  7. Some great Burnout meets a few years ago, I think you used to host them at one stage. Only 16, jeez I thought that you were older than that, as with most of the Yorkshire folk on this site!

    • You grow up fast in Yorkshire. Especially when you have to catch and kill your own food at 12.

      • Catch your own food at 12, us ‘proper northerners’ in the north pennines start a lot earlier than that :)
        Great to meet you Snake.

  8. Very funny read that. And i agree that you can never beat a good game of blackjack.

  9. Ok, let’s get the Norfolk thing out of the way. Although I’m actually from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk is only one county away and I actually work there. I find the 13 fingers comment a little insulting as most people I’ve met there are actually really nice people and only have twelve fingers.

    • LOL. Too slow, Mundham gave the same comeback just a couple comments up! :P

  10. Don’t trust Greeks bearing gifts. The European Union should have listened to that.
