One hundred and four days after launch, Battlefield 3 on Ps3 has received a patch that fixes the voice chat.
The 11MB patch, v1.03, has been tested by players on the EA forums and they have reported no problems with a full squad of four players all using their microphones.
Apparently the patch only fixes the VOIP problems and a game balancing patch will be released tomorrow.

I guess the advantage of playing on PC is that there is the option of using 3rd party voice chat software. Still, in this day and age I guess there isn’t much excuse for not having VOIP working at least in squads from day 1.
Right now for PC, the only way of getting voice in game is to create a chat channel via battle log before starting a match. So it’s still friends only. Not much use if I want to have a quick blast without the guys I regularly play with.

It would have been helpful for the game to tell us this…
A game balancing patch will hopefully fix the A-10. Why does it not count as a vehicle??? I should have at least 165 jet kills but it says 150.

Why does it matter?? It would just be a case of the next time you boot up a patch is available wouldn’t it?

I meant the original patch, it just gave us an 11MB download and no-one had a clue about it, the in-game news still said that B2K is out.

Fair enough i suppose, but i think sometimes you kinda just have to take a step back & think “oh it works now – Hallelujah! Bit late, but welcomed nonetheless”.
Which reminds me – I might wanna get the patch downloaded before friday! :S

I take it there was a delay.
