You haven’t seen me try and play GT5. Ash wasn’t lying when he said I steer with the barriers!

I can’t remember, didn’t Ash say he had a wheel for GT5? Have you tried that?

Yeah but that doesn’t help me much. The brake pedal is a mystery to me. Probably because of the influence of Mario Kart. I win on that without the brake, so GT5 should let me do the same.

Do you just want to hurl turtle shells at people sometimes? Part of being fast in MS:RC is to keep the go button down.

Wahey! Finally my random Mario Kart skill has been of benefit then. If only hurling the turtle shells was possible, the fun I could have!

It’d be like that youtube video of the crazy French guy driving around a real city dressed as Mario. Well, until he got arrested. 

That was awesome! I wish I could do that, without the arrested part! They should do that as track days.

I always like to ask people what their most embarrassing game they’ve played it. Do you have any guilty pleasures? I imagine Ash kept you on the straight and narrow of late.

Ash is particular about what he buys and so what I can play. I probably enjoyed Donkey Konga more than I should, but I still like it.

Nothing wrong with the occasional rhythm action game. Is Donkey Konga so different from Guitar Hero and Samba de Amigo?

I guess you look a bit better playing a plastic guitar than sitting on the floor hitting bongos and clapping, but that didn’t stop me.

Have you ever played a Space Channel 5 game? They’re awesome and completely mental.

No, never even heard of it but if it’s mental, then maybe I should.

It was a Dreamcast game, originally. Though I think the sequel (featuring a creepy Michael Jackson) made it to PS2, and is on PSN now. Just watch a video on Youtube. It really is crazy.

I’m watching one now and I have to say it is… different. I hope there is a demo on the store. I want to see the crazy first hand.

Ash revealed that it was through him looking at TSA all the time that you discovered this site too, but what was it that made you really take interest and stick around?

To start with I used to get all the bits I’d be interested in through him, but I stick around mostly for the news and reviews. I really love the podcast, although I need to catch up on the last two. Everyone is so friendly as well, and it’s so nice to be part of it, even though I don’t get involved too much.

Is it still mainly news and reviews you pay attention to, or do you have a favourite TSA feature?

It is mainly news and reviews for me, it was so useful for Vita news and info around launch. No other sites came close, to be fair.

The guys definitely put in a ton of work for the launch. Do you see yourself maybe getting more involved in the forums in the future? It’s been a while since you posted, I think. Although, you did get some votes in the Forum Awards last year.

I’d like to but I find it difficult to think of something worth saying. I’m quite dull really, and probably a bit too self conscious. Ash had to do a lot of convincing to get me to do this!

I was really shocked by those awards. I didn’t think anyone really even noticed my presence, but much love to Bunimomike.

You should chip in regardless. Unless it’s asking for a favour, in which case SolidSteven will come along and yell at you because you’ve not got enough forum posts.

So away from playing games, smashing into virtual walls and lurking on TSA, do you have any other interests and hobbies? Obviously, student life is very time consuming and stressful.

I do quite a bit of charitable stuff I guess like volunteer work, I’m helping with an Oxfam event next week in fact. I did a Midnight Walk in the rain and even cut my hair short and donated it, and so on. Between that and uni stuff there isn’t time for much else. I do a bit of doodling now and then when I can, as well.

That’s really genuinely quite lovely. The donation of hair in particular, I find. Do you mind sharing what you’re studying at Uni?

Thank you. I’m studying Psychology at uni.

Presumably you must be in second year, so the work load and pressure must be ramping up quite a bit too.

Undoubtedly! I’m looking forward to a holiday. Psychology was complicated enough in the first year.

Suitably mind bending, I’ll bet.

Okay… I’ve been trying to work this out in advance.

I’d Marry Peter because he’s crazy clever, not that the others aren’t, besides he runs TSA. I’d Slap Lewis because of all his crazy list of rules. I’d Snog Kev, because he’s funny and he’s as close to Drake as I can get! And I guess that means I’d have to smother Kris, although I do feel quite guilty about that. Sorry!

You should psychoevaluate Lewis! Surely there’s some slight issues in his past that lead to all those rules?

Ooh, that’s an idea. I’ve got lots of podcast resources to use. Plus isn’t his favourite game character Kratos anyway…

Very true. It’s a race between time before he goes around murdering almost his entire extended family!
