EA Opens New Studio

EA has opened a new studio that will focus on using the Frostbite 2 Engine in its games. The studio will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Frostbite 2 Engine, which was developed by DICE, has so far been present in Battlefield 3 and Need For Speed: The Run. The engine will also be used for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, as well as Command & Conquer: Generals 2.

What kind of titles that the Gothenburg studio will work on has not been revealed, but with GDC currently taking place we might learn more. EA is currently hiring for all areas game development for the new studio, so if you think you have the skills and fancy moving to Sweden you can click here to apply.

  1. Well its nice to see amidst all the doom and gloom.

  2. Mirror’s Edge 2. C’mon! Someone’s gotta do it!

    • This! It needs to be done.
Would have liked to have seen a new studio in the UK, considering quite a few have closed in recent months.

    • As much as I agree, I’m not sure it’ll ever happen :'(

  3. Hopefully the development of other engines is still encouraged when practical, and this studio won’t take over Frostbite 2 games from other studios, such as Black Box.

  4. maybe BFBCV (Battlefield Bad Company Vita) sweet mary mother of Jesus

    • or maybe Dante’s Inferno 2 (less of the GoW rip off) or Macbeth

  5. Nice to see 1 more studio is Sweden :).

  6. Mirror’s Edge or new IP please.
