New Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD Screens Released

A few new screens have been released for Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD.

Due out on Xbox LIVE and PSN this summer, the game takes some of the series’ best levels and gives them a shiny new coat of paint.

These new screens show off the upgrade School II will be getting, and it looks like it’s quite an improvement all around.

I was a big fan of 2 and 3, so am looking forward to this!

  1. Skate 1-3 are still infinitely better than any Tony Hawk game, but as I’ve rinsed them beyond belief, I’m really looking forward to this!

    • No, no, NOOO. Skate can’t hold a candle to Hawk 1 and 2.

      • What Nofi said. I could never enjoy Skate, and I really played THPS to death.

Although maybe it’s just the nostalgia tinted specs I seem to be wearing.

      • Suppose it depends if you are a skateboarder! I’ve skated for 17 years, so I love the realism and creativeness of the Skate games.

I did play all the Tony Hawk games to death back in the day too though!

    • Honestly Skate is a good game but its a little bit flawed with the trick system and level design. Like I say its frusrating but Tony Hawks stays being fun.

      • The trick system is genius! Makes absolute perfect sense!

It’s also worth pointing out that the online community is vast and the level of creativity in park editor is mind blowing! I’d even compare some of it to Little Big Planet levels.

It’s a game that’s over 2 years old and is still number 36 in the chart. Says it all!

      • Heh, fair enough. I guess I just preferred the simple arcade style of the Hawk games. =)

  2. Summer?! That isn’t right now. I can’t possibly wait that long.

  3. Oh man I can’t wait! I hope they price it right. I imagine that if it’s received well then they’ll go on to release the rest too. Fingers crossed!

    • I don’t really care to be honest they could shock the world and demand for £20 but in the end it should be the kind of game to keep going back to.

  4. Skate was frusrating so glad that Tony Hawks is back… but hopefully they don’t ruin it again. I’d rather see the game getting map packs and extra stuff if theres a Create-a-mode stuff.

  5. stoaked for this, still blast thps 1 and 2 on my ps1 now and again!

  6. I loved this game when i was a kid.

the skating was always fun, they were secrets to figure out and an amazing soundtrack of songs, none of which ive heard since (without having to look them out)

Plus it was one of the few games i ever played with my brother (he was really into it, plus he knew the cheats to change how the character looked)

And of course barbie girl is being sung on my TV and im in a nostalgia overload thinking about all of this.

  7. Looks fantastic and the THPS games were some of my fondest memories on PS1. Really looking forward to this.

  8. This is looking awesome. My one real hope is that they manage to retain the same soundtrack though. It just won’t feel the same without a bit of Rage Against The Machine wailing in the background.

    • So true. Otherwise I’ll have to start working on a playlist on iTunes; the soundtrack is integral to the game.

  9. Thps2..the greatest sports game ever. Period.

  10. I think Underground was probably the last good one they did. I wonder if you’ll be able to go off your board on this one, or which tricks (e.g. reverts) will be available?

    • Hopefully they’ll keep the newer tricks, but I don’t see the point in getting off your board for these. They were built to be much smaller, 2-minute-a-go levels. There’s no need to get off your board.
