Dark Souls Announcement Incoming

Yes, this is an announcement of an announcement, and as such I’ll probably be locked in the TSA vault for the rest of the day. However, this is regarding Dark Souls so I hope you’ll forgive me.

The Dark Souls Facebook page (wait! Come back!) has posted the following cryptic message:

“An announcement is coming……

We have something in-store for our DARK SOULS Fans ! Make sure to check out the following page, share, like and tell everyone.”

My theory is that the game up until now has been on the easy difficulty level, and this is the announcement of the normal difficulty level which will have Chuck Norris  just repeatedly punching you in the face.

  1. Dark Souls DLC? I’m game! Loved Dark Souls way more than Skyrim [which surprised even me].

    • Well they’re quite different but I guess Skyrims just more repetive and lacks a good combat system… as ususal

  2. PC port perhaps?

    • Why would that make dark souls fans happy? I mean they already have the game so it should be a DLC.

    • ..because its linked somehow, it could be dlc or a complete edition for the PC and with a petition that wants to see Dark Souls on PC as like 65.000 signatures surely that makes fans happy, new fans.

      • I was looking for the PS3 ports needed for Dark Souls [so I could get through the university’s firewall, turns out I didn’t need any more unblocked anyway], but I encountered a very vocal community concerning a PC port to the extent where I couldn’t find the ports required at all, aha.

      • I herd they where heading to the port but…. the port was moved?

    • im about 99% sure its a PC port I cant wait!

  3. I’ve heard rumor of console DLC and a PC ‘Complete edition’ which includes the new DLC inside

  4. Eurogamer says something about a pc gaming mag with “You have Died” Dark Souls PC it is.

  5. I’m hopeful its news of a big expansion. New areas and enemies would be very welcome!

  6. Probably the PC version of the game will be announced. There was no DLC for Demons Souls so I dont see why they would put more on for this one. Im only 7hours or so in as I haven’t had the time to complete it yet. Its a bit harder than Demons Souls though.

    • You reckon? I found Dark Souls much easier. Though I did get a kick-butt sword about seven hours in that lasted me for the next forty-odd hours.

      • Well since I played it I swiftly made my way past to the first bell with ease. Then making my way down in to the depths I am just torn apart all the time (doesn’t help that I am cursed), Dark Souls is just that bit harder starting off so far because Im not good when it comes to dark narrow corridors where I get lost and destroyed by everything. When Im used to it it will probably be a bit easier :)

      • Ahh, I hated those darn weird frog things. The advantage of being cursed means you can actually attack the ghosts in New Londo Ruins [because you won’t need to use Transient Curse] :)

      • yeah I found that out by accident. Those ghouls/ghost gave me quite a scare at first as I didn’t know they would be there :P Im going to start playing it again now :P

      • Me neither, haha. Having the Dark Souls wiki open on a computer while your playing is a necessity, I reckon!

  7. I really need to go back to this…and Demon Souls for that matter.
    Both amazing games and I haven’t played either for what seems like forever!

    I “liked” the page, here’s hoping it’s something cool :)

  8. I hope it’s DLC but I remember reading an interview with the developer who was very against releasing dlc as he said that this was a way of releasing unfinished games and for them everything would be included and play tested on the original disc.

  9. I think the new diffculty will be called F***** heck what the f****, not even Chuck Norris could complete this. Or Ragequit diffculty.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if the game starting beating up gamers as soon as they touch it.

    I can see it being DLC and hopefully is either post ending DLC or fits into the story. Hopefully, it’s not a retexture pack.
