Ni No Kuni Gets Fantastic English Trailer

Namco Bandai has released an English trailer for the sublime looking Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Due for release on PS3, this RPG has been out in Japan for some time now, but EU/US gamers will have to wait until Q1 2013.

I don’t want to wait. Anyone up for storming Namco’s HQ? No? Oh…

  1. Count me in! Been eager to get my hands on this since having a very short go over the Christmas break on import. Sublimely magnificent doesn’t even begin to cover it, just absolutely gorgeous and that’s with me understanding around 3% of what was going on! I want asap.Ni no Kuni and Rainbow Moon are probably the two PSN titles I am most looking forward to now that Journey is with us.

    • By PSN, I mean PS3 of course. Silly baby rolling my keyboard away and distracting me!

  2. Looks wonderful but I do not like the voice actor they chose for Shizuku.

    :(

    • Really hope we get the option to play in Japanese with subs.

  3. Ghibli are, for me, the best film company in the world, I adore their work and it’s always a delight introducing the youngsters of my family and friends to their films. My son wasn’t even 18 months old before he could say Totoro and it was the sweetest thing :)

Cannot wait for this title, I have such high hopes :D

    • I’m with you there. My girlfriends sisters family thought I was nuts when I suggested we all sit down with Spirited Away, but they absolutely loved it! Not all films are for kids though, Pom Poko is absolutely bonkers and features too much exposed scrotum.

      • Grave of the fireflies too, for different reasons though – kills me that film.

I almost died laughing when I first watched Pom Poko, never thought I’d live to see a film in which a riot cop is smothered by a racoon using his nutsack as a bludgeon.

      • Oh and when I say kills me I don’t mean funny kills me, it’s a really heartbreaking film that one (if of coursee you haven’t seen it otherwise I’m preaching to the converted). It was a culture shock when I came across it as I hadn’t expected anything of its ilk from Ghibli. Brilliant stuff.

    • The only downside to Ghibli is that every time I buy one of their films. Disney makes some money.

Still, no other company has the ability to reduce me to tears with their films on such a consistant basis. Tottoro, Howls moving castle, and Ponyo all have certain sequences that just get me every single time.

So I have to agree, Q1 2013 seems a long way off.

  4. Wow, still can’t wait for this!!

  5. wow,i forgot all about this game. looks like its going to be something special.

  6. Wow, goosebumpy. How can anyone not love this, looks absolutely amazing in my opinion.

Annoying though that we will have to wait a whole year for the localized version, especially since I won’t play it with the english voicework anyway.

  7. This just looks splendid. I am a big Ghibli fan and their transition to games looks like it could be as close to perfect as anyone could hope for. Fingers tightly crossed for this one. I also like the choice of a welsh lead.

  8. I absolutely can’t wait for this – its one of the reasons I got a PS3!

  9. Still very pretty, still not seeing enough to justify that price tag – was something like £70 for a standard edition.

    • That was most likely the japanese price. Games are more expensive there. It won’t cost that much here in europe.

  10. The wait just got a lot worse. Voices seem very decent, but as all the Ghibli films I’ve watched has been in japanese, I want my first playthrough in the original language with subs. Hopefully it’s an option.
