Batman: Arkham City GOTY Coming Soon

Another year, another 8 GOTY titles are to be released. However, this one may just deserve the title.

Rocksteady has announced that their recent caped crusader escapades will be hitting the shelves sometimes this year with all the DLC released to date AND a new story expansion that Peter mentioned a few weeks back.

So with the game, along with the new Harley Quinn DLC yet to be released, you will also get the controversial Catwoman DLC, the Robin and Nightwing challenge maps, some extra skins and the Batman Year One movie.

Tempted?

Update: The Harley Quinn DLC will also be out separately on the PSN on April 29th ($9.99) and on Xbox LIVE on April 30th (800 MSP). These dates seem a little off (Sunday and Monday) so we are getting confirmation.

Update 2: The date confusion has been cleared up. DLC due May 29th and 30th.

  1. Not in the slightest. :)

  2. I’ve been holding out for the inevitable GOTY edition, but if the DLC won’t be on the disc I won’t get it.

    • It would kinda rule out the point of a GotY edition if the content was not on the disc wouldn’t it?

      • They could do a Borderlands and have it all as vouchers inside so that it has to be downloaded.

      • I have never owned a GotY, so i had no idea Borderlands did that – I don’t see the point in the re-release in that case then. Why bother changing the packaging for that?

They may as well have just put a sticker on the front saying ‘Extra Stuffz!’ & saved themselves the money on the packaging!

      • Don’t think it’s on the disc, the box art says you need an Xbox Live (I found the 360 art) to redeem the DLC. http://i.imgur.com/twcPs.jpg
Although that might be just for the Year One stuff. I’m not too sure.

  3. (Batman theme cues)

    Nanananana…

    *smoke clears*

    (Bandits pause)

(Batman and Robin is seen running)

Batman: Quick Robin, hand me the batawallet
Robin: …but we spent all the retirement funds on the batladder
Batman: Damnit..! well give me the Batphone!
Robin: Huh? but the contract is expired
Batman: Noooooooo!! curse the Goty editions and there worthlessness..

    • You sir are proper nuts :)

    • Whats to expect? happens every year with GOTY editions, boring.

  4. tempted, sure, especially with the Year One movie packaged in, but i still won’t buy it new if the content is locked to a one time use code.

    • Looking at the pic that colmshan found (good find btw), it looks like it will be. :(

  5. With a subtitle like THAT, you kind of expect a picture :(

  6. I resisted buying the game on launch, so I’ll get the “complete edition” where all the content will be ON THE FUCKING DISK with no extra charge for each of it…

    • I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not on the disc mate, this is the same money grubbing WB who make 2 million dollars a year on bullying small restaurants for licence fees and even tried to sue The Girl Guides of America for the alleged copyright infringement incurred when singing “Happy Birthday” in public. They won’t do us any favours and I bet at least some element of it will be DLC.

  7. And the award for ugliest box art goes to…

  8. I really hope it will be on the disc and not lock out the gamers who dare to buy it preowned.

May actually pick it up at some point despite the BS online pass for the single player only game. Yes, i’m still annoyed about that.

    • I don’t think they’ll go that far.

  9. It would have been nice of you to mention the other seven GOTY editions comming out too.

And for everyone that enjoys a bit of Harley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGL1pIQVJVo

  10. Oh i hope that’s not the actual box art. I hate the way they plaster a game’s box art with effing stars and 10/10, especially film box art.

    • Looks like a magazine cover doesn’t it? Hideous.
