THQ Delays South Park RPG Into 2013

THQ has published their investor relations report for the fiscal year ending in March 2012. In amongst the good news of Saints Row’s roaring success and the promise of the standalone “Enter the Dominatrix” expansion in September of this year, there was some bad news for South Park fans.

It looks like the Obsidian-made RPG is being pushed back to the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2013. That’s January 1st – March 31st 2013.

I suppose it’s probably best they get it right, rather than rush it out. It does leave THQ’s release schedule for 2012 looking quite thin though, with just Darksiders II in August, the Saints Row expansion in September and their annual WWE game in the fourth quarter.

It also makes the post Christmas period look very tasty for THQ with Company of Heroes 2, Metro: Last Light and now South Park: The Game set to arrive in the quieter sales period.

  1. you bastards. ^_^

    couldn’t help myself.
i just can’t leave a catchphrase like that hanging.

  2. Is anyone actually going to get this?

    • Not without seeing some screenshots, gameplay & having a general idea of what the point of the game is, no.

If i see all (or at least some) of those things & am intrigued, then probably yes.

    • if it’s good, maybe.

  3. I’m in, I’m a proper SP geek!

  4. It’ll undoubtedly be hilarious but I just hope they can back it up with solid gameplay.

  5. I bet it’s good. Don’t know why…..
