No PSN Discount As Resistance Hits Vita Store At Full Price

Sony have released Resistance: Burning Skies on the US PSN Store for $40, the exact same price as it is at retail, on a card. Previously Vita games, at least first party ones, have seen a little discount, but that seems to not be the case here.

There’s a demo available, although it’s the full size of the game itself – just over 3.1GB, which might put a few people off. We’d suggest that if bandwidth and memory card aren’t issues that you give the first person shooter a chance, it’s decent in places.

There’s also a Gravity Rush demo and a Nico Nico video viewing app, the latter of which came out of nowhere. Let’s hope all of the above make it to the EU Store update tomorrow – we’ll let you know the second we can of  course, as normal.

Nihilistic’s first person shooter has recieved wildly differing review scores, including a 6/10 from TheSixthAxis. The game is released in the UK this Friday, for £34.99.

  1. Typo “latter pf which”

  2. It’s clearly priced with no discount because the consuming public view mediocre shooters as valuable, and rare commodities in the year of 2012. LOL.

  3. Pretty saucy demo size but as i’m eager for some FPS action on Vita i’ll try it. I presume the US demo won’t work with my EU Vita so i’ll pick it up tomorrow.

    • It will work of you can bother with backing-up your data etc. Waiting would probably be better. :)

      • Too much bother alright, i’ll make do with the Mad Riders demo for PS3 tonight. :)
Also i notice US store has Niconico app for Vita now so hopefully that means us, i mean eu too.

      • And as the page refreshes i notice niconico app was already mentioned in the article .. :s

  4. There may not be a discount for Resistance but there is for Gravity Rush http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/05/29/gravity-rush-demo-hits-psn-today/ $5 I do believe

  5. No discount?
    Not cool, Sony.

Although I’d never have bought it from the PSN anyway. Over 3gb? You’re going on a cart, no matter how good I think you’ll be (and the reviews aren’t convincing me Resistance is good, mind).

  6. big games are more money was Uncharted cheaper no.

    • Yes, it was.

      • UK it was not see your doing US PSN sorry.

      • UK it was too, 10% off rrp. :)

      • Your probably forgetting that UK retailers like to undercut the RRP in their crusade to ‘purge’ the land of well-meaning independent shops. Sorry, I’m still bitter about the local Tesco.

      • the store price was the same as the retail price for me.

      • RRP was £45 mate. Still is.

      • ok I see :)

      • =)

  7. UK version will be £39.99 so no discount here either.

    • Preorder through game and get Resistance Retribution for free..shame I already bought it.. :(

  8. If you just shop around you can get it cheaper anyway, preordered it for £30 not long back, seems to be one of those games that people either love or hate though…

  9. 3.1GB demo?! Not have enough space for that.

Quite surprising the price. They are probably relying on the Vita game drought, it’s name and it being the first FPS on the console to sell it as that price.

  10. They’ve said on Twitter that there will be a discount. $39.99 on card, $34.99 on PSN.
