Interestingly, after the PlayStation Blog accidentally leaked the Battlefield 3 Premium release date and price, a spec sheet has appeared which details exactly what that £40 will get you.
Battlefield 3 Premium, going off the leak at least, will get you access to all the DLC early, increased soldier customisation and get a number of exclusive in-game items.
There’ll also be Premium-only events, exclusive double-XP weekends, strategy guides and tips and server queue priority.
Premium will be available to buy on Monday for £39.99 (in the UK at least). EA have yet to officially discuss Premium’s details, but we assume something from the publisher is forthcoming.

£25 I would of bitten and got back into BF3. Bit pricey for my wallet.

Oh, this is basically the equivalent of COD Elite?
I thought it was a Battlefield 3 GOTY edition, of the game and DLC.
I might have bought that at the price, not so interested now.

Bar early maps, Elite doesn’t split the community with segregated benefits.

Definitely a great deal for hardcore BF3 fans, although server queue priority sounds a tad unfair to regular players.
TROPtastic
Yeah personally I hope that having server priority doesn’t mean that you can jump ahead of people who are 5 spots ahead of you or something severe like that. Of course if a non-priority player and a priority player are ‘tied’ trying to join a game at the same time, then it’s pretty fair to let the priority player join first.
cnutard
I’d be willing to put money on it meaning exactly that (skipping over everyone in the queue that isn’t a premium subscriber).
Imagine queuing for a server where premium subscribers kept wanting to join also. You’d never get in the server, lol.

The only things to interest me in this are the expansions (only because it’d be cheaper than buying separately) and the alternate knife (I like to stabby stabby) so I won’t be getting this.
Got to say, the stats reset option seems ridiculous to me. My win/loss ration isn’t great but I wouldn’t want to reset it. I like to know how I’ve done over the whole of my career.

So Battlefield 3, that was basically a COD clone with it’s levelling up unlock shit, now has a clone of COD Elite!
Battlefield 2 still is the best online game I’ve ever played. This one isn’t fit to clean it’s assault rifle. I’m so glad I traded this tripe in.

£40 ARE THEY SERIOUS!? I could buy a game for that price, scratch that, two games. imo, doesn’t sound like it is worth the £40.
MrCoffeeUK
Get two weeks early access to all 5 Battlefield expansion packs? Erm…who are you kidding – that translates via Google Bullsh*t – English as; “everyone who doesn’t pay us some money in addition to the game can wait two extra weeks for any DLC”
This is a crime if you ask me, for that price you could buy a new release or two recent releases if you shop around. Won’t be long before sites hold off review scores until the “expansion via dlc” period actually presents a complete game!!
Youles
Seems like an odd move to me 6 months after release.
Despite it being good value (if buying DLC seperately), I couldn’t justify spending £40 in one go on DLC, (can’t you get PS+ with loads of stuff over a year for about the same price)?
And this move just after they say they’re taking down more of the free servers; and this gives payers queue priority – this is not for me!! I doubt I’ll buy Warfighter since EA seem to be trying to take money for the game, online pass, server use, queue priority, exclusive items. This is setting a bad precedence for online gaming, and might as well be subscription based.
Bilbo_bobbins
it amazes me they think of this and expect hardcore battlefield players to pay for this. If the hardcore do pay for it, they need their head examined.
Youles
Indeed. Even if I was a hardcore BF3 player, £40 when I don’t even have all the DLC immediately after purchase is not good. Rockstar and Naught Dog have priced there packaged DLC much better (half of this), they don’t charge for server use despite there being servers available for their games that have been out for years, and don’t penalise non-buyers with putting them back in the queue. Even CoD Elite was a bit cheaper, the stat-tracking is probably better, and people have seen the benefit since November 2011. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t going to buy another EA game (Dead Space/Fifa) but I will certainly think twice about the next MoH and BF games.
ScottyB
Why? It Makes complete economical sense to get this if your a hardcore player and will buy all the map packs as it comes out cheaper. Not to mention all the other nice stuff you get with it
Bilbo_bobbins
This is crazy, definitely NOT buying this and wont be for future games. Unless Dev’s can create a game that works, what’s is the point in buying a broken game for a few customisation and server priority? Also to say they will fix input lag in the DLC is a joke too, they expect people to pay for a fix? No thank you.
Does this mean taking down the official servers was an idea to make people pay for them?I know they put them back, but they nearly got away with it. It was only a few on the forums that shouted that made them change their mind. EA have goen too far with this and I will be showing what I think by voting with my wallet.

I’ll buy this. I play Battlefield 3 all the time and was planning on getting all the DLC anyway. This will save me money in the long run as I’m guessing a DLC pack will cost £10 – £15 alone. Even though it’s a bit late on and maybe a bit on the pricey side, I can live with that.
