PS Vita Gets Official European Price Cut For Six Weeks

Sony has announced a short term incentive for anyone looking to buy a PS Vita in Europe.

The deal, effective as from this Friday, June 1st, will see SCEE offering a €50 (£40) rebate on Vita purchases during a six week period that will end on July 15th.

The deal will not be repeated, and is not intended to appear as a price cut. No ‘ambassador’ program or refund is expected for anyone who has bought the Vita before this Friday.

Via MCV.

Update: It has been confirmed to MCV that this deal is only available in France and won’t be coming to the UK or, we assume, other markets. It’s also being stressed that it’s a temporary thing so don’t get your hopes up.

That all seems a bit silly.

  1. Confirmed: France only. I’ll wait for the actual price cut.

  2. Aha! So that’s why Amazon suddenly upped their 3G Vita bundle from £209 to £259 the other day….crafty flunkers!

  3. Shame really, the Sony VAT or money back deals are usually awesome as the Sony centres throw in all sorts of old stock in bundles to get rid of it, I ended up getting a tv and blu ray player for about 40% of the original price a year and a half ago. Sold the blu ray player of course :)

  4. *sees that it is for the french only* LA BOO! LA BOO! *throws tea at france*

Why does France only get a cut? SCEE, EU is not just a country so apply it to the entire region.

I think we will see import of Vitas from France rise during those six weeks. Also, SCEE remebered that the Vita is out!? :O

  5. Awwww man, just ordered a new one( to replace the one I broke)

  6. Quelle dommage!

  7. Something is better then nothing….
