New Gears Of War Game To Be Revealed Next Week

Epic is to announce a brand new Gears of War game next week at E3, according to reports this evening. The game will be Game Informer’s next covergame, and it’ll be a big feature of Microsoft’s press conference.

Unsurprisingly, it’ll be for Xbox 360, although nobody really thinks it’ll be that silly Kinect game, let’s hope that was cancelled for good and we can get our hands on a proper new Gears title – they’re massive on Xbox and rightly so.

Could be interesting.

  1. Already??? Must be another team that is making this game then? My guess is on People Can Fly.

  2. A bit soon I think. 3 was good, but a wait for next gen would be good for the franchise.

  3. Even though MS are stepping up and a ‘hardcore’ title is on it’s way, this is really too soon. Gears 3 only came out less than a year ago.

    MS try harder.

  4. Great, just what I wanted – another Gears of War game! Seriously, where are the new ideas guys!

    Microsoft: time for a new Xbox game: “Fear So Raw. It could be about a guy called Marcus crapping himself in the face of millions of monsters called locust and with Kinect interaction”!

    Epic: “But that’s just another Gears game?”

    Microsoft: “Not just another at all – we changed some letters around and add kinect functions. We can milk this sucker right up to Gears Go Karting”.

  5. I heard it’s meant to be a prequel to Gears 1, not sure how substantiated that rumour is though.

  8. Having read 75% of The Slab, and the other 4 gears novels, a prequel game is a possibility. Especially if they can get Karen Travis on board as a writer.

    There is so much they can add to a new hoard mode and tons that could enhance beast mode too. I’d buy this day 1!
