This looks, well, odd. I hold the controversial view that Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies were fairly tedious documentaries about walking and closeted hobbit homosexuality.
I loved Tolkien’s books, which allowed for some very intricate character building over the course of the journey.
So I don’t know if my judgement is just a little bit off with regards to this trailer but it feels like a Lord of the Rings fighting game to me. Like WB Games are about to pull off a big shock and announce it’s taking place in the Mortal Kombat universe. It’s all very red versus blue.

Interesting but there is no way that Saron will be fought as he getting destroyed and losing his ring is the sole reason for the LOTRs. Plus, Gollum trying to fight Gandalf is not going to last very long.
It seems to take place before the events of the trilogy but it can’t be during Saron’s dominace as i doubt that Legolas and Gimli and Gandalf were alive back then. Okay, Gandalf probably wasn’t sent down to help yet.
Why can’t they do a DAO:LOTR edition as it would be the best LOTR game to date?
