Anarchy Reigns Now A 2013 Release

Sega have ‘re-evaluated’ upcoming beat ’em up Anarchy Reigns and have narrowed the release window to Q1 2013.

The game is expected to hit the Japanese market next month but those of us in the west will have to wait until next year to play as a mechanical bull who can whack Bayonetta round the head.

There had been some concern that the game may never see a release in Europe after Sega changed the release date from July to ‘TBC’.

Update: Atsushi Inaba has taken to his Twitter account to express his thoughts on the delay, here are his collected tweets:

First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns, the delay is not due to further development of the game. Even though the release dates will be different, the content of both the Japanese and western versions will be 100 per cent the same.

Today’s Q1 2013 release was the first we’d heard of it. Even if we wanted to, we can’t comment as we’re (still) in the dark officially.

Finally, I want to sincerely apologise to all the fans worldwide for all the confusion this situation has caused. Even though we are the game’s developers, we can only do so much about this

  1. I’ve been doing my best on keeping tabs on all the “Delayed to 2013” articles and have compiled a list of games pushed back to next year. So far I have…

    DmC (Devil May Cry)
    Tomb Raider
    Bioshock Infinite
    Aliens Colonial Marines
    Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
    Metro: Last Light
    South Park game
    XCOM game

    are there any I missed?
2013 is looking to be VERY crowded.

    • It’s like Microsoft and Sony were going to announce new consoles at E3 this year so everyone rushed to get their games out before the new hardware.. and then news filtered through the consoles wouldnt appear till next E3 so everyone has taken a breather.

      But that would be silly.

      • Yes, a little silly, but you do raise a good point – I wonder how many of these will be pushed back & pushed back & then ‘re-worked’ to fit a next gen console?
