Yuke’s, who are experts with wrestling games and also responsible for the THQ UFC games, have acquired a bizarre license. They’ve signed a deal with the Lingerie Football League to make a videogame based on the peculiarly costumed sport.
For those who don’t have a google alert set up for physical sports involving scantily clad women, the Lingerie Football League is full contact American football played by women in lingerie, helmets and shoulder pads.
Here’s what the Yuke’s CEO, Yukinori Taniguchi had to say about it:
We at Yuke’s feel that there is incredible momentum building behind the LFL and that the sport is perfectly positioned to become the next big franchise in the gaming world.
The official press release goes on to say that “the core global fan base of the LFL, which consists of nearly 60-percent Men, 18-34, perfectly aligns with the gaming world’s target market.”
Which is odd for two reasons. Firstly, a seven-a-side American Football game is the next big franchise in videogames? Really? Well, okay, that’s possible. Secondly, only 60 per cent of the Lingerie Football League’s viewers are men between 18 and 34? Are the other 40 percent under 18? Who else watches this stuff?

As for the game, it will suck as most games that use sex as a main factor tend to be average to bad. Lolliopop Chainsaw has proved that point.

I really disagree with that. It does look really omg sexualised because of the cheerleader style but it looks like a fun game. I’d deffo give it a rent because its Suda 51 and not a super-hot cheerleader.

Firstly, i am not a horny teenager anymore (long past it as it happens), but do i like to see women in thongs? Abso-bloody-lutely! Couldn’t care less whether they are playing football or not – Whatever makes them happy i suppose!
Truth be told, i would prefer them without the thongs really, but you have to allow them a little dignity! :D
& from what i have heard, Lollipop is not a bad game at all, just a tad short. But it was also intended to be played through a number of times, so i guess that explains that somewhat. I can confirm this for you soon if you like as i have it ordered (may even turn up today if i am lucky)!
