You’ll have seen the two new screenshots of GTA V, and whilst one of them showed a helicopter, it’s in the text of Rockstar’s Newswire article that planes have been all but confirmed.
“The city was simply too small for effective and enjoyable flying,” says the publisher when asked why planes weren’t in GTA IV.
“It was the first time we made a high definition open world, and it was a massive amount of work to make something on that scale – we simply could not make an environment big enough for planes to work properly.”
“Fear not, they are returning in what is our biggest open world game to date.”
That ‘biggest open world game’ has to be GTA V.
They also comment on all the fakes and rumours. “All the way up until game launch (and probably beyond) there is going to be no shortage of non-stop hoaxes, faked footage and screens, rampant rumors and speculation,” said Rockstar.
“As a rule, we are not going to get into the game of confirming or denying each of these as they happen as there is simply too much of it. Half of them we don’t even understand.”

This game will probably last Hoorah of this generation of consoles… maybe it will be launched on the 8th gen consoles instead.

Isn’t just cause 2 the biggest free roam map? Even if it is copy and paste. Perhaps rock star are remaking all the originals GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas and putting them all together. That would be sweet! plus the picture by the water could be vice city?
