The press invite we’ve just received locks down the date as Tuesday 14th August and it’ll be at 7pm local time, at the Staatenhaus am Rheinpark, Cologne, Germany.
It’s highly likely that Sony will be showing off the new CECH-4000 model PlayStation 3 at the show, and hopefully picking up the slack of some new PlayStation Vita reveals.
TheSixthAxis will be attending the press conference and we’ll have our usual coverage of all the news, reveals and rumours during the show live from Germany and from here in the UK.

No interest in new PS3’s for me since I bought mine in 2007 and little interest in anything Vita (except curiosity for the more original titles) so another press conference with nothing for me. I don’t think there will be anything for me until they announce next gen really which makes me have little to no excitement for these conferences. Hopefully Ubisoft have some more to show though, their lineup is putting most of the others to shame!

Seeing as my overwieght 80GB still has a few years left in her, the new model is of no interest to me. Although i wonder if they will address the reason for changing eject disc to remove disc?
Suspect it will just be new footage from exclusives as well as the size zero PS3 being talked about in depth. Can’t see them annoucing any new exclusives as they usually save it for TGS or E3.

Agreed, it’s mega-ultra likely the new PS3 Super Slim Model will be showcased in this grand event. :-)
