Blimey, the new Resi film looks like being a ‘Greatest Hits’ film if these new TV spots are anything to go by. Alice is back, obviously, but so are Colin Salmon and Michelle Rodriquez, last seen seen being sliced to itty-bitty pieces and munched by a Licker respectively in the first film.
Talking of the first film, the Lickers are back, as is Sienna Guillroy as Jill Valentine (under hypno-bug control), Shawn Robers as Albert Wesker (last seen being all tentacley and blowing up in a helicopter), Oded Fehr returns as Carlos (blew himself up) as is Luther West (munched on by a zombie).
New characters include fan favourites Barry Burton, Ada Wong and Leon Kennedy. There are also shots of the Las Plagas infected and the giant hammery blokes but rather oddly, not a single zombie. Also, it’s nice to see that one refuge for the human race during the zombie apocalypse has a Game Stop.
It all looks very exciting and I’m rather looking forward to turning my brain off for two hours and enjoying the film.

So that means that all horror should be removed & replaced by just ‘action’. You should also have to watch this with a co-op partner that is generally a bit useless & tends to use up all the ammo (popcorn).

Love the Resi films (as you say, just sit back and switch off the brain off for a couple of hours). Given this is likely to be the last one it’s great to see they are just going all in and going out with a bang.

Yeah it does seem to be a ‘Last stand’ thing.
Having said that, the films continue to make huge amounts of money for those involved and oddly for sequels, the amount of money has continually gone up – $102m for Resi 1, then 118m, 146m and 296m for Extinction.
They get filmed an a pittance, Extinction cost $60m giving the stuso $230m clear profit which is not to be sniffed at. I bet the new movie is around the $60m budget will make 300m+, especially as it releases within a week or two of the latest Resi game.

I presume the returnees are clones, like Alice. Whilst that would explain the military and police chaps (all working for Umbrella on the sly) I’m wondering how Luke West is back – he was a basketball player so no reason for clones of him.

she does say in the trailer that Umbrella are using the people’s she’s know against her.
Alice isn’t a clone though, she’s been cloned, but unless there some twist in this movie, she’s the original.

All the Resident Evil films are lame, this is just another chapter in its lameness, which is such a shame considering the games are legendary. The only good thing about the films is Milla Jovovich!

Looks like it’s action and since when has supernatural things been in a Resi product? Before anyone mentions, you know what i mean. The silent hill stuff not the virus based stuff. Suspect it will be a massive dump on the games and what the feck is Rain doing there? She shot in the head in the first film and even Umbrella can’t bring a zombie back to life! Also, what has happened to the horror? Also,Alice lives as the writers won’t kill her off as it would be the end of the films. And what the fuck are the excutioners doing there? They have no reason to be there! Also, Las Plagas is in this? They had better give us an explanation as so far, there has been none.

To be fair, you haven’t watched the film yet, so they haven’t exactly had the chance to explain how these things come together!!
I’m sure there will be a reason for all these things. Whether its a good one or not remains to be seen.
