Watch the Future of PlayStation Right Here as the Next Generation is Announced

The wait is almost over. Sony is gathering the world’s videogame media, amongst others, in New York for a special presentation showing what’s next for PlayStation.

We’ve sent Alex to see it first hand but the rest of us will be watching what we expect to be the unveiling of the PlayStation 4 right here in the comfort of our own homes. We’d like you to watch it with us and, thanks to SCEE, we’ve been given the opportunity to stream it to you.

The event is set to start at 6PM local time, that’s 11PM here in the UK, and we’ll have a video stream live on this page about half an hour before then. You might want to keep a couple of browser tabs open because we aim to report on all the major news as it happens too, and with a second page open, you can tell us what you think in the comments below without interrupting your stream. Our stream should, we’re assured, work with mobile devices too.

The time for rumours, speculation and wild, hopeful dreaming is almost over. The future is about to begin.

  1. *Lie mode* I’m not excited at all.

    • Hah. It’s like Christmas Eve only we get to watch Santa come down the chimney! Very impressed with the streams, can’t wait.

  2. Alex, you lucky lucky git!

Enjoy it though. This could be a night to remember.

  3. Hnnnnng!

I hope to make this noise at some point between 11pm and 1am.

    • I promise to clean up afterwards.

  4. Im so glad that TSA are there. If I am going to watch it happen I wanted it to be here.

  5. And so the longest day begins. As many of us are staying up to report/watch the the thing I have suggested we while away the preceeding hours by shooting each other the head or perhaps racing about – Motorstorm Apocalypse is on plus so lots of peeps should have it.

  6. nice one chaps, this will be the first time I watch a live stream of Sony showing us the next gen. I’m glad its with TSA when it happens.

    • Same here, I’ll be at home this time. Normally when there’s something happening I’m away from my pc and out of wifi spots.

  7. Excellent – there’s nowhere else I’d rather watch it. I’m kinda beside myself tbh…

    • Same. I think I’ll watch it either here or on the PS3’s XMB, as they are streaming it live under the What’s New section I was told. But that might be unstable and risky to go with :/ either way, nice one TSA and it’s great you have Alex actually there.

  8. I’ll only be able to watch about half and hour or so before sleep-land, so I won’t know about half the stuff until later tomorrow. One question though. Will the stream take up much data? I’m on a network data quota and I need to preserve it. If it takes up the same as a 480p YouTube video then that’s fine, but otherwise.

    • I’m in the same boat. Watch about half-hour, then sleep. Gotta get up for work at 4.30am. Love it :[

  9. I think it would be hilarious if Sony came on stage and Kaz unveiled a new Move game, something like Call of Duty Modern Warfare Move Edition.

    • A new Patapon game with guns and explosions

    • Move games will have to feature somewhere if the console is launching with some form on Move in the box.

Sports Champions 3 it is then

      • I meant more that a new Move game was ALL they revealed…

Kaz comes on, cue awesome video of guys waving coloured ping pong balls around and things blowing up, Kaz says ‘Out August 2013!’, fade to black, DONE.

I think we’d hear Alex exploding from here…

    • Not as funny as a 2hr demo of Book of Spells 2, or just revealing a lilac Vita with a new Hanah Montana game.

      • Although they are welcome to bring out the R&D guys again.

  10. Great news, what better place to watch the show than here :)
