Just when you thought PlayStation Plus was about as good as it’s going to get, SCEE have just hit it out of the park with a trio of top tier games that are free as part of your subscription.
First up is EA’s massive RPG Mass Effect 3, available from the 6th of March. Despite weeks of everyone moaning about the end of the game the general consensus is that the rest of it is pretty good.
Also available is the technically brilliant brawler Dead or Alive 5. Sure, it’s a game with absolutely loads of DLC but it’s optional stuff and the core game is well worth playing.
Finally, indie hit Joe Danger 2 completes the trio.
Don’t worry Vita-owner gamers, the week after will see the superb Metal Gear Solid HD Collection available, and on the 20th cute water-based puzzler Bubble Puddle lands on the service.
Fantastic.
So remember that Sleeping Dogs, Vanquish and LIMBO all leave the Instant Game Collection on the 6th, and WipEout 2048 and Lumines in the following weeks. Grab them now if you haven’t already.

Not a good month for Vita. Puddle costs a fiver and isn’t ground breaking and I along with many others bought and completed MGS HD on release. It might be nice to get it back, but at 3.7 GB it isn’t likely. I was hoping March would be good a month to be a bonus for my renewal on the sub, but I can’t be bothered until mid April now. Might as well cash in on NFS, Sonic and DoA 5 plus.

I guess that’s always the risk. If this month had been Rayman and Stardust it would have been a bad month for me. My sub is having the same affect it had when I was a ps3 owner, only buying a few big games a year and having plus fill the gaps.

damn you sony, Gravity Rush and Uncharted weren’t enough, now you have to add the MGS collection. >__<

is there a character limit on comments now?
the rest of my comment disappeared.
let me try again.
i’m trying to hold out for a price cut but you’re making it hard.
also Mass Effect 3, i never expected to get this on ps3.
mainly due to the hours invested in the previous games on xbox, and mutliplayer wasn’t enough to get me to change sides given my policy on online passes.
funnily enough, i did try the multiplayer when they put the full game trial up, i thought that would be my only chance, and, i actually quite liked it.
i know right, well believe me, you’re not as surprised as i was. ^_^
anyway, i guess i can play it some more now, who knows if i’ll like it after more than an hour spent playing it, but hey, not a big loss if i don’t.
and DOA 5, nice.
wanted that for a while, but never had the money to get that far down my list of wanted games.
i’ve enjoyed the DOA games since 2 on the PS2, incidentally, my very first PS2 game.
the only dowside to the various versions i’ve played was the cheap tricks they used to make the bosses harder, and where applicable the terrible online.
and unfortunately, problems with one compound the problems with the other, for example, the bosses wouldn’t be a problem if the online play worked, and the sloppy online play wouldn’t be so bad if the bosses weren’t so incredibly cheap.
anyway, rant aside, i’m looking forward to playing this, i wanna give that new MMA fighter character a go.
hopefully the multiplayer is decent online, i swear, playing one of the previous games years ago on one of the xbox consoles it turned into a slide show at times.
and i still haven’t finished Sleeping Dogs yet. >_<

well, that was weird. o_O

Simply incredible again by Sony. Got DOA5 but it just means I’ll be trading it in tomorrow. My backlog is so huge it’s very unlikely I’ll be buying anything until MS and Sony release their new consoles.

Not to sound too cynical here but aren’t Sony going to run out of (good) Vita games to offer for free very soon? The only Full Vita games I have bought in a year are Uncharted and MGS, (not counting Motorstorm:RC) so I thought the odds were in my favour when the Vita’s PS+ was announced.
Avenger
Quite possibly yes. There are still a few good gems out there but it is a case of whether the publishers want to play ball. So far the majority (not all) of the Vita titles are Sony published/endorsed. Also with the fact that I bought a lot of games last year, the fact that the entire launch library surpasses the largest memory stick, and the fact that many games coming are too good to wait, Plus is somewhat dying out for me already.
I got to play and complete Gravity Rush, Knytt, Big Sky, Mutants Blobs and Chronovolt all for 11.99. So that’s job done for now. The next sub I make will probably be when something crappy and premium comes like Resistance or CoD. Most of those other ‘gems’ are cheap, worth buying, and on a card of their own.

they should offer psp and psone games….
Bambo_19
They really no how to keep plusers happy! this is amazing. Already have MGS HD but im not bothered. Cant wait to find out what they do with ps+ and ps4
TSBonyman
I couldn’t be happier about this. I already bought MGS HD for PS3, also wanted it for Vita but couldn’t qualify buying it again.
And i was only saying in a previous article that i might pick up ME3 again for the dlc – hopefully there’ll be a deal on the dlc too!

fuck just bought Doa two weeks ago….

Dead or Alive will do nicely. Got the rest. PS+ is legendary.

Great month, been wanting Dead or Alive 5 and MGS Collection for quite a long time, so I’m very happy :)

I give up, I clearly can’t keep up with Plus games.
